Not prejudiced at all, she is absolutely gorgeous, bless her.

I absolutely love old traditional names, and nice when they have a personal family connection too. My little boy's going to be Alexander Thomas, always liked the name Alex, and Thomas is after my uncle who died when I was four-years old but still remember him clearly now, so thought it would be a nice tribute.
Love that name--really great choice and agree about family connections. How are you feeling--you're in second trimester now, right?

Welcome back and congrats on the new grandbaby! I have a sister named Eileen Mae,needless to say she took a bit of Beverly Hillbillies ribbing..gotta be careful with the naming!

I have to remind myself constantly not to call her Ellie Mae--not as a tease but because of the association so it just comes without a second thought! My daughter and SIL most likely would not get the faux pas as I doubt either of them has ever seen The Beverly Hillbillies but don't want to get in the habit of that.

How did your daughter make out with the induction? How long was she in labor?
Let's just say that it will take her a while to forget about the delivery so that she'll consider having a second one. :D They started inducing on Wednesday around 4 PM but although she was having contractions, her cervix wasn't dilating. It wasn't until they really pushed up the pitocin dosage a couple hours before she delivered that she finally got to 4 cm so they could break her water and after that it went quickly. All told about 30 hours of labor.

Ms.Mod, I bet you're a very proud Grandma, she is a very pretty happy looking baby. Welcome back to everyone!! I hope that you all had a warm and beautiful holiday/break!
When my daughter was in labor, the nurse would keep telling her "she's a happy baby!" after they did checks on her. My daughter texted me that and added that she thought she was an angry, spiteful baby. This was about 24 hours into it. My thought was, "oh, yeah, this is someone who's been in labor a while," and couldn't help but chuckle even though I was feeling sorry for her for being in labor so long.
