Love that name--really great choice and agree about family connections. How are you feeling--you're in second trimester now, right? Not prejudiced at all, she is absolutely gorgeous, bless her.
I absolutely love old traditional names, and nice when they have a personal family connection too. My little boy's going to be Alexander Thomas, always liked the name Alex, and Thomas is after my uncle who died when I was four-years old but still remember him clearly now, so thought it would be a nice tribute.
Easy for you to say. And thank you.Ohwhatalittlesweetypeetyfeetyweetyreetykitchykitchycookitchykitchycoo.........................
Ellie is a beautiful baby. Enjoy every precious moment you can, they grow way too fast. (((Ellie)))Not that I'm prejudiced but she's much cuter in person. Here's one with her awake having play time.

I was! Eleanor "Ellie" Anne was born 11/24 at 10:44 PM, weighing 7 lbs and 19-1/2" long. It was really tough leaving yesterday but made sure I didn't cry or I know my daughter would have started, too.

I have to remind myself constantly not to call her Ellie Mae--not as a tease but because of the association so it just comes without a second thought! My daughter and SIL most likely would not get the faux pas as I doubt either of them has ever seen The Beverly Hillbillies but don't want to get in the habit of that.Welcome back and congrats on the new grandbaby! I have a sister named Eileen Mae,needless to say she took a bit of Beverly Hillbillies ribbing..gotta be careful with the naming!

Let's just say that it will take her a while to forget about the delivery so that she'll consider having a second one. They started inducing on Wednesday around 4 PM but although she was having contractions, her cervix wasn't dilating. It wasn't until they really pushed up the pitocin dosage a couple hours before she delivered that she finally got to 4 cm so they could break her water and after that it went quickly. All told about 30 hours of labor. How did your daughter make out with the induction? How long was she in labor?

When my daughter was in labor, the nurse would keep telling her "she's a happy baby!" after they did checks on her. My daughter texted me that and added that she thought she was an angry, spiteful baby. This was about 24 hours into it. My thought was, "oh, yeah, this is someone who's been in labor a while," and couldn't help but chuckle even though I was feeling sorry for her for being in labor so long.Ms.Mod, I bet you're a very proud Grandma, she is a very pretty happy looking baby. Welcome back to everyone!! I hope that you all had a warm and beautiful holiday/break!
Reminds me of a Friends episode when Rachel is having her baby and the little Miss refuses to be delivered. Rachel's at the end of her rope when the Doc tells her she's still only at 4cms and Rachel tells the Doctor "you got to do something, can't we smoke it out?"
Thanks! I'm a Nana. I let my daughter pick as it didn't matter to me and that's what she wanted as my mother is her Nana so that's what she's used to.Welcome back Ms. Mod! Congratulations...a real sweety. What's your handle (grandma, granny, nan, nana, baba, etc.)? All the best, mal.
