I have made a detour in my reading. Last evening i suddenly felt nostalgic. So i picked up one of my childbooks that i have left, in this case Biggles in the South Seas by W.E. Johns and went fighting octupusses, sharks, pirates and hurricanes in a frantic tempo. Thats the reason i've kept a sample of these books, some times i feel nostalgic and a little childish and don't want to think so much, if at all.

Prey. Definitely the best of the lot (sorry, Mr. King)

I just finished Prey by Crichton. First half of book was really good, 2nd half....not so much. Not sure what happened. I went ahead and finished it but it was a bit of chore at the end.
I actually decided to reread Different Seasons, then I'm probably going to read Roadwork. After that? Who knows. :)

Something alarming has happened in my reading. I thought you were supposed to read books for fun, not to get upset, but lately distressed is all I've been feeling from the books I've been reading.
I don't know how much of it has to do with the fact that I have the cold from hell (more than a week later and it's still going strong without stopping) but my reading experience has been anything but enjoyable. The last book I enjoyed reading was Red Rain, by R.L Stine. That was right before I got the cold and infection that I just finished taking medicine for.
I hope it's just that I've been under the weather. I wouldn't want to think I no longer enjoy reading.
Take garlic and horseradish...that will kill anything...and read The Story of Edger Sawtelle, a most excellent book Dr 'Chelle out :)

I have read Lightning by Koontz for the first time. quite good. Perhaps his best book. I tried another of his awhile back, Mr. Murder it was called that i found rather boring.
Mr. Murder was my first Koontz book. I liked it pretty well.
