No. I've never been arrested, though I came very, very close three times. And roundly deserved it each time (the last time was more than 22 years ago: I learned my lesson). I was in law school and had loads and loads of time on my hands. Law school is a lot easier than people make out.

Oh good - if I ever get in trouble will you defend me? (I'm a Canadian so would that work?)

The Inheritance of Rome by Chris Wickham. About the history in Europe, including the Roman Empires African and Asian parts from 400 to 1000. The so called Dark ages. Considering some of the buildings built and persons living then it is a bit misleading name.

I just finished reading Farewell, My Duece by Renee Pawlish. It was a freebie on my kindle and I enjoyed it for the detective novel it wanted to be.

In the last few chapters of the book, the hero needs to throw his gun out a window, so he "put the safety on the Glock". Apparently the author reads SK, too!

I have Some Luck by Jane Smiley waiting for me at the library but must finish The Golem of Hollywood by the Kellermans, father and son, before I pick up Smiley's latest.
Finished the Kellerman book, VERY, VERY different. 'Bout half way through Some Luck and I just don't know....
1/3 in and the father kills a mother dog and drowns her puppies.
It's the first in a trilogy, I guess that's why it seems to
drag
UGH. Could be a bad time for me and this book too.
