I finished We Are Water by, Wally Lamb. I'm not sure what to make of it yet as it doesn't seem to want to settle.

Almost half way through The Amazing Kavalier and Klay. It's brilliant!

And I started the Locke and Key box set by Joe Hill.

The Drowning Girl by Caitlin R. Kiernan

Just starting this.

Kiernan is an amazing writer but one you definitely have to be in the right mood for. She excels at everything - character, mood etc and it is all so layered. And complicated and oft depressing. Yet still beautiful. Her books are very personal and feel very autobiographical too. I marvel at her skill. And feel the conflict that her writing and thoughts she wrestles with.

Ugh. Boswell and his damn Johnson. No, sir, that simply WILL not do. I hear the pompous old bird in my dreams, his brilliant pronouncements always preceded by his name, all caps, followed by a hyphen, as such: JOHNSON-. Like that, then some long winded, perfectly worded declaration of utter genius. Can't remember none of 'em, of course, but that's how they pop up in my dreams, driving me half bugdung.

Think it's time to start Revival, finally; give old powder Whig a break.

I loved Boswell's Life of Johnson. Blew through it in a short stretch of time. Three days or so. A while ago though.

Just finished Regulators by Richard Bachman. What a hoot.
I was rereading The Gunslinger, was thinking of taking the journey with good ole Roland for I lost count of times. Wife said if you read it that much, read this and handed me "Half Bad" by Sally Green.
(Before logging in, I say local library had 5 for a dollar book cart. I found three X-Wing books. Star Wars after Half Bad)

It was at a time when I could devote the vast majority of my time to straight reading.

No. I've never been arrested, though I came very, very close three times. And roundly deserved it each time (the last time was more than 22 years ago: I learned my lesson). I was in law school and had loads and loads of time on my hands. Law school is a lot easier than people make out.
