Lest The Darkness Fall by L. Sprague de Camp. About an history interested guy who travel to Rome to visit a dig and there fall through a hole in time. He reappears in Rome in the year 535. The Goths are now masters over Italy. Rather amusing thoughtexperiment. It is considered a classic in the timetravel genre.

Sounds nifty. You ever read any of de Camp's pastiche Conan? He also turned some of R.E.Howard's non-Hyborian stories into Conan stories, but wrote a few of his own, as did Lin Carter and Bjorn Nyberg. Some people consider these works part of the Conan canon (Canon Conan?), and others will draw steel at the very mention of such blasphemy.

(Incidentally, I don't consider em canon Conan Canaan cannon coo coo, ah hem, but it's all quite readable stuff.)

I'm swapping between the last half of Rogue Lawyer, an Architectural law book and Proxy by Alex London. The Sypnosis of the book at the back says that i'm going to like this too (my standards, is i felt it would fall in the category of my favorite genre, im. Going to like it)

Seriously, i'm reading too much Law stories and novels and Thrillers lol

I'm being very stingy with the last $13 of my ebook credit...I must have downloaded 2 dozen "free samples" in the past couple days.
I read the sample and if I actually care about how the story ends, I buy the book. So far, too cheap to care much.
I just started a sample of Michael Crichton's "Sphere" so we'll see how that goes.

Ok, I have to say I did not fancy heart shaped book.. no way.... sounded phoney...say sorry. I went to look for End Of Watch, yesterday but found Fireman, instead. Not a great book to read after Fort McMurray...... a bit too close to home.....but a goodly read for all that.
I thought his book NOS4A2 was very good staropeace
