Lately I've been slack as I've been worried about a dream i had. That's not the dream I'm talking about but seeing I'm on here for free, and it's a true dream, ( and this is all I can remember of it) 1984. Myself, and a school mate of myself, Andrew, are ohepposite Hyde Park in Sydney. This dream has Stephen King and his henchperson's involved. (No bullshit). White Ford Econvans about ten of them and they started chasing me underneath.

I saw Jeffrey Toobin on the PBS Newshour last night promoting his new book about Patty Hearst. I'm going to pick this up and wedge it into the TBR pile. I was a teenager when Patty was kidnapped and remember the almost daily news coverage of this story that went on for more than a year. For you young whippersnappers who think terrorism is something recent, this story highlights one of many homegrown terrorist groups we had operating in the US in the early 70s. Here is Toobin's PBS interview

When the victim becomes the criminal: a fresh look at the story of Patty Hearst | PBS NewsHour
This sounds interesting. Will put this on my TBR pile too.

I have read a few of Laymon books and I'm not sure what to make of him. ;-D He has some very depraved stuff going on in some of his books. It's kind of hit or miss with him. I really liked a book called Island. Many of his books are good and horrible at the same time.

ok, I gave Laymon another chance and read Island... I liked the introduction written by Dean Koontz :)

I'm reading some ridiculous book my wife recommended written by Jodi something, PinotGrigio maybe? Picture Perfect is the title, at least it has a pretty yellow dress on the cover. :D
Jodi Picoult. May have appealed to your wife, more than you, Out of Order . Deals with family, spousal and domestic abuse. Life lessons learned with the ending. Time jumping also might be an issue in reading. You sort of have to keep track of the time frames.

Thanks Spidey. I guess I was a little cross in my post. I almost gave up about twenty pages in, but my wife scolded me that I wasn't giving her a chance. Read a bit last night and there was a pretty decent brawl in a restaurant. That and I can't figure out yet what the deal is with hubby, has me more excited. I also like the anthropology aspect and Native American officer. Plus all the :a24:.

I have Salem's Lot in front of me. I got as far as the dedication the other day, but I was involved in a conversation. It is a library book and although I think I should have read this by now, I missed it.
I'm going to read this if it's the last thing I ever do. I have to disengage from whatever I'm hanging on to here and trust the author to charge my spark, conducted sans phone or computer.

Stick with this one, you will be so glad you did. IMHO B. Stoker would have loved it!!

This was the first book I ever read by King, and I devoured it. Once you start you won't be able to stop, it's fantastic!!

I've only read a couple books since I last posted.

I finished What She Knew a couple days ago. It was one of those books I can't "like", because as a parent it's scary to read about child abduction, but it held my interest and was well written.

Now reading Once We Were Brothers.
Very early into it, but so far it's intriguing (I forget how to spell that and don't feel like looking it up haha).

Read two Margery Allingham. They were so so. Also read the 60 best conspiracy theories. Kind of fun. Everything from kind of wacky stuff to things that actually makes as much sense, if not more, than the official version. Some i heard of before and some were new to me. Kind of fun.
