Just finished Tailsman and Black House,
Currently reading short story "Lawnmower man" and others until I find my next book.

Anyone remember the movie?
Saw it at the drive-in many years ago and has nothing to do with this story

Ah! Thats why!
Writers:
Stephen King (title only), Brett Leonard (screenplay)
If I remember correctly, Steve sued to have his name taken off of the theater posters and commercials for this movie as it doesn't have anything to do with his story other than the use of the character names.

Insomnia is essentially a dark Tower novel. I'd go with that one...:)
I was thinking of making that same recommendation for you myself. Although book three is the furthest I've made it in that series as well. I read Insomnia years ago and enjoyed the ever loving heck out of it.
I'm just now realizing I only saved a draft of this last night. The decision has been made since then! Good.
Insomnia it is! Thanks everyone!

Now on a reread of Memoirs of An Imaginary Friend by Matthew Dicks.

This is one of those fantasy books where I lost myself in the narrator's world, but in this case, the narrator is the imaginary friend of a boy with special needs.

It's an emotional read for me, but I'm curious as to what other "regular" parents (and people who aren't parents) think of the story.

OK, I'll put this one on my TBR pile, too!=D Have you read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime? It's main character is a young boy with Asperger's. It's a good read.

I finished Sacrament by Barker yesterday and am now making steady progress through Fevre Dream by George R R Martin.
Really really different to his Song of Fire and Ice series! So far, so good :)
I loved Fevre Dream!! Have his latest on my reserve list in library. He can put words together quite nicely.

David baldacci, just finished the camel club which is the 1st book in a series of 5. I'm half way done with book 2, the collectors. I'm totally hooked and I'm sure I will have the other 3 read by end of month. The characters are his best work.
I am always on the lookout for a new Baldacci!

About a third of the way through Abandon . Also started After Doomsday by Paul Anderson. Starts off with the Earth getting destroyed and then Explores what the people who survived, the people that happened to be on space missions, reacts when they realize they are now the only few hundred remaining of the human race. Not bad so far.

Abandon - Blake Crouch

I just finished this and I liked it but not quite as much as the other books of his I have read. Blake did something interesting by telling two stories simultaneously, one set in 1893 and one set in 2009. The books starts off in 2009 with a group of people hiking into an old abandoned mining town in Colorado. In 1893, all of the residence of this town disappeared and it was a big mystery as to what happened to them. So, the book tells both stories alternating between 2009 and 1893. You get the adventure, thriller story of 2009 and the entire mystery of 1893. The problem I had with this book is that the 1893 story has a lot of characters and by alternating the story every few chapters, I struggled to remember the characters from 1893 when I switched back from 2009. After the half way point, it got easier but the back and forth made it hard. This is almost like two separate novels. If I ever read this again, I think I will read all of the 1893 story first in it's entirety and then the 2009 story. You can do this easily because each section is clearly marked 1893 or 2009.

Started Abandon by Blake Crouch. Started promising. 12 chapters in so far. Thanks for the tip!

I put this on hold at the library! Sounds like a good one.

Now, I'm going to look for Abandon, which has also peaked my interest.

Last week, I re-read Needful Things, and this weekend, I decided to go back and re-read The Dark Half. It's been a while for both.

I must be part Borg. I tend to comply with the collective. I started Abandon yesterday lol.
