Reading Robert Conroy: Liberty 1784. It is an alternative history that starts with the execution of George Washington. He lost instead of won the deciding battle (Yorktown i think?) and was captured and later executed as a traitor by beheading in the Tower ow London. But the lust for liberty did not die with him. Some supporters fled and are planning for a second american revolution. They moved a bit west to their base called Liberty because not to many englishmen were there then. We'll see how it developes but i like the premise.

I'm glad for you. This really does give you a taste (pardon the pun) for her writing. Interview is a very slow moving tale compared to the next few vampire books.

I prefer Interview over all the rest. Lestat is all evil and mysterious, not a flying superhero 'Prince' from Atlantis (?!?).

Oh, Anne...Anne...time to pack it in.

I am looking for book suggestions based on the works of James Fennimore Cooper or books about American pioneers/fur-trading and Native American relations. I have recently started watching a new Netflix series called Frontier and realized I knew precious little about this time period.
I loved Undaunted Courage, about Lewis and Clark, but I am seeking fiction titles only. Thanks in advance. I will be checking Amazon later or Goodreads but sometimes asking other resourceful readers has its advantages.
I plan on reading Ken Follet's Fall of Giants and the Lonesome Dove quartet very soon. Come to think of it my TBR list is ever expanding. danie told me about Slow Dancing at the Rascal Fair and I still haven't been to the library to order a copy. :cold:
