Went shopping. Mikey received some later birthday money and took him to choose his gift. He got a DS 2,a couple games for it. Harry Potter collectors edition, and some clothes.
Speaking of, did I see correctly that the new Harry Potter book was already discounted on the shelf at the grocery store? About to walk Sammy, neurotic poodle mix currently depressed and missing Dante. I'm worried about him, he won't eat.

I'll pick it up next time. Counting on it being pretty good, you? Danny and I agree to share one commonality; we obsessively re-read Harry Potter watched the movies, discussed the quantity:quality book to movie ratio years ago.
We were at Costco today and i did see it is 16 something there. Iam not much of a Harry potter fan myself.

Walked to shop, made spaghetti on toast for breakfast. Listened to some talk-back radio. Will listen to 'Grandstand' Rugby League on the ABC this afternoon. Will finish reading book tonight. Can't decide what story to start next from Four Past Midnight: The Langoliers or Secret Window,Secret Garden. I read the others about a year ago so it's too soon. The Langoliers, I think.

I suggest Langoliers. If I can find a little space I will continue reading, more difficult than it should be. I already know how to slowly savor this morsel. It's a secret. You need a good one for the next few days. It really is a secret or I wouldn't have resorted to predictable text in the last sentence.

Did some more homework as well. So sick of Sociology at this point! Last on campus class for that suckfest is Monday. Will just have the final to do after that.

Two more on campus classes left in the semester for my Managerial Communications course. Still have a bunch more reading, yet another paper, a final exam, and a final group presentation. Boy do I hate group presentations! There's always at least one person that does not pull their weight.

After this semester ends I will have an eight week break as none of the remaining I courses I need are being offered the first half of the fall. Classes will start again for me right before Halloween. Looking forward to the break.

At some point today I will be getting my grandson. The three oldest grandkids each come here for a week every summer. He's the last of the three. Hope it's nice pool weather.

I do have to get a bit of cleaning done. Not sure where he will want to sleep, so the two places need to be ready. He will be informed that if he sleeps in the game room, all game converters will be removed nightly.

Not sure what I want to do - I could return to Value Village and see if those three paperback books that I tucked away are still there on a bottom shelf. One was The Running Man and I cannot even recall what the other two were.

But the store does not open until 12 noon anyway and it's only 10:49 here. I made pancakes for breakfast.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

I just fed Alexander his breakfast, wolfed down my own food, threw in a load of laundry, walked Sammy-oohh and we saw a butterfly while listening to Dylan just now!
Today's no different from any other Sunday. Work online 4-10 PM, pick up groceries, swim, read, check in here, repeat.

Working the day shift (06:00 A.M. - 06:00 P.M.). Enjoying the relative calm of Sunday morning. Sergeant went and picked up Sunday morning tamales at a local eatery. Nothing like fresh hot tamales and a cup of coffee.
:snicker:The first time I tried tamales I was at a farmer's market in Shiprock. Rocky Mountain oysters, rattlesnake, :go:tried but never a tamale.
They were not on any menu in New England, I thought "I'll try anything once".No one, not even the bastinado who sold it to me, mentioned "pssst, might want to peel the assartly corn husks!"

The city were I live and work is approximately 40% Hispanic. There are numerous eateries that serve very authentic Mexican food. Some of the items I had never even tried until I was hired by the city. Tamales are a Sunday morning tradition as well as a holiday items such as Christmas and Thanksgiving. Yes your mistake is a common one for newbies. LOL. Dana Jean and I live in the same area. She knows what I'm talking about.

We've had door to door tamales out of the trunks of cars in my neighborhood! ha!
