And... Ewan McGregor is (once again) great in it.
Can't remember there been a character called Ewan McGregor in the book. I always think the character Mark Renton looked a bit like the actor Ewan McGregor

I was supposed to quote Cappy's post...Can't remember there been a character called Ewan McGregor in the book. I always think the character Mark Renton looked a bit like the actor Ewan McGregor
You are just doing the dance of life. Like everyone. Trying to figure out what our purpose is. What we stand for. What matters. Keep waking up every day, do the best job you can and be creative. Find a passion and throw yourself into it, the rest will fall into place.Who am I? I hate every human being who is asking questions from me, and it's happening almost every day, because I'm working at a WalMart like hypermarket. The desperation about money, the jealousy of those who has money and buy everything without a thought, the rage, everyday, and the hate is fueling my life. I have to take drugs to not feel any anxiety at my job, or just simply cut someones throat who is complaining to me, who is simply "uploading" the shelf's with products. Also I can't accept myself of who I am, I hate myself, I can't look into the mirror, because I feel the sudden urge to punch through it. I have to suppress my anger, and it's just another burden in my life. I'm spending more time fantasizing, than actually living my life. I have no romantic relationship, and I don't have one, because I know that I'd hurt emotionally my partner. I'm on this planet for 23 years for now, and I wake up every day. But I don't know for what. It's just an automatic process. Process that I have to do. I can't find any meaning at my life. All I know is I'm exist, and just breathing air.
GAR, that book was difficult to get through! I ended up just reading it aloud--it made more sense to my ear than my brain (my daughter had to do the same with Joseph's broad Yorkshire in Wuthering Heights-lol). Brilliant book.Have you read Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh? The characters talking in broad Scottish and Scottish slang is brilliant.Takes a while to grasp what they're actually saying.
By brilliant ... Are you referring to Trainspotting or Wuthering Heights? If W.H i can only agree. A big fave for me. Its a pity she died so early (E.B i mean). I think she was the most gifted of the three sisters. Have actually only seen the movie Trainspotting, not read the book.GAR, that book was difficult to get through! HAHA! My mum's best friend is from Yorkshire, and even after some 30 years in the US she still has quite the accent. I usually don't have much trouble, but it's fun to listen to her speak to her sisters back home on the phone--it's like she's speaking a different language than EnglishI'm from Yorkshire, so Wuthering Heights should be a breeze for me
Both, actually (though I was talking about Trainspotting), though in different ways. W.H. is a favorite of mine, as well. The dialect was difficult for me in Trainspotting, but I knocked it by reading aloud--made more sense that way.By brilliant ... Are you referring to Trainspotting or Wuthering Heights? Ha ha. Has she ever said "put wood int oil"? Put the wood in the hole, aka shut the door.HAHA! People are going to love your accent here. It happens. I worked with some guy from England.
He told me that he could not go anywhere without people asking him to say cus words for amusement.
Probably my biggest vice...I don't need to be asked twice to say cuss words.
