Yep, I've had return tweets from several authors, and a few really nice extended exchanges with Joanne Harris (nice lady). Reverend Naomi is a kind, generous person, and I've enjoyed chatting with her a bit, too.

Do it. Write her. Find her address and write her. Try to write her through a cause or charity she works for. Has she ever written anything, go through the publisher. If you write her as an actress, it will get lost in a pile. Try to find the road less travelled to write her so your letter stands out.Kate Upton

My brush with the awesome: I used to work downtown in the Cotton Exchange Bldg and once a month we'd have happy hour and a nice big cake from the Peabody - so I was in the café picking up the cake on the day of the Dave Matthews concert (this was Aug 1999), and low and behold, right in front of me, purchasing a bazillion muffins was Boyd Tinsley. We had conversation - I floated back to the office in a state of euphoria - I am a huge fan and had tickets to the concert that night. If you don't know: he's the violist for DMB. His arms are gigantic and he's so freaking cool.
