Mr. King is on his 44th wedding anniversary and apparently the modern gift for this year (there is no traditional gift) is groceries! There have been a couple of times in my life where I had to choose between a book or some groceries. The book always won.....
I think it is impossible to guess such a thing. Believe that he would make it as an author yes. But this enormous successstory can't really be imagined.Mr. King is on his 44th wedding anniversary and apparently the modern gift for this year (there is no traditional gift) is groceries!
He has kept his family in groceries for a long time - I wonder if she ever guessed they would become so successful
Well, yes you're right!I think it is impossible to guess such a thing. Believe that he would make it as an author yes. But this enormous successstory can't really be imagined.
Couldn't agree more!Well, yes you're right!
He has worked d*mned hard for that money however! Plus I think he is just a born storyteller.
He started young and he has honed his craft over the years. I must say thanks to him every time I become completely immersed in one of his tales and lose all track of this world and go into the world he has created. It's a wonderful feeling.
There were two different editions available? I'm sure I got the least expensive one-been too afraid to even take it out of the shrink wrap!UPS finally brought my copies of Cemetary Dance's edition(s) of Carrie! Beautiful, beautiful books! I just finished reading Tabby's Afterword. I love the copy of the telegram from Bill Thompson at Doubleday stating that Carrie has been picked for publication!
There were actually three editions- The lettered edition (way too rich for my blood and pocketbook), the 'Artists' edition (signed by the artists and limited to only 750 copies) and the 3,000 copy 'Gift' edition. There were two different editions available? So you got the "Artists" edition then? I just got the 'Gift' edition so that Andy would not freak out when he found out the cost! There were actually three editions- The lettered edition (way too rich for my blood and pocketbook), the 'Artists' edition (signed by the artists and limited to only 750 copies) and the 3,000 copy 'Gift' edition.
I was on the fence about it when they first announced the books. Pretty high cost for a book NOT signed by King, ain't it?So you got the "Artists" edition then? I just got the 'Gift' edition so that Andy would not freak out when he found out the cost!
Not really - if you are a serious collector - just think how much money you would be burning up in smoke if you hadn't quit so many years ago. So spend your money as you pleaseI was on the fence about it when they first announced the books. Pretty high cost for a book NOT signed by King, ain't it?

Which one of the editions-the lettered?I honestly expect these reprints to sell for less than the initial price in a few years. That's when I'll pick them up. If I'm wrong, so be it.
