Christine and the Stand were my 1st loves but the Dark Tower Novels are my true love. I have to wait a period untill the fourth book will be translated in romanian... a very difficult period for me.... I look up to this character and I'm willing to finish reading the series. Keep up the good work Stephen King. Wizard and Glass is by far my favorite out of all seven. Posted By: John Locke May 28th, 2010 8:37:03 pm EDT Like the reader below me, I also just finished this book today. This was probably my favorite book of the series so far and that is saying a lot considering I loved the first two. It's brilliant to see the way this story has played out and I particularly enjoyed the many conversations between the ka-tet and also the introduction of Blaine the pain. The cameo of Richard Fannin/Randall Flagg was impressive and I can't wait to see how that plays out. Finally, the ending surprised me quite a bit because unlike the first two, this one did not have such closure. All in all, this was a brilliantly-written sequel to the first two and I cannot wait to begin reading the 4th novel. My favorite points were Roland and Jake's reunion and the appearance of Richard Fannin ( aka Walter, aka Marten, and even more amazing , aka RANDALL FLAGG! true SK fans will know who that is). Cant wait to start Wizard and Glass tomorrow. The best part about this book, and just about every other Stephen King novel, is that everything is so vividly real. The fight against the giant bear, the haunted house coming alive, the city of Lud, the Tick-Tock man, and Blain the Mono are all so real that you feel like you are Eddie, or Susannah, or Jake traveling right alongside Roland. This is one of (if not the best book I have ever read). King you are amazing!!! Posted By: El Grogg November 20th, 2008 6:17:11 pm EST the picture stephen paints of Lud is truly incredible. for me, this is the dark tower novel where things truly take off. i was so blown away by 'the god drums' and immediately had to go and find 'velcro fly' so i could hear it. each time i hear that intro i envisage the Lud massacre and get goosebumps. the realisation that Lud is an alternate new york is the key to everything that comes after it in the dark tower saga. wizard and glass is my favourite dark tower novel but Lud is my favourite piece of the entire dark tower story as a whole. My mom bought me this book the same year and neither of us really paid attention to the title so I started reading the book before I realized it was a part of a series! Naturally I felt like an idiot when I finished the book and realized that there were 2 books preceding it in The Dark Tower Series. I was hooked though so I bought the other 2 and read them, re-reading number three after I got caught up. |
