I really wish Stephen King would hire professionals to read his stories. Though he is a master story teller a professional reader can summon different voices for the characters and it makes listening to the story much more pleasant.

I was one of those people who actually bought the first book in 1982, and had to wait for YEARS in between books, waiting for the next one. I was so glad when I could get the 3 later books within the same decade! Then, when I finished that last page...it was like the end of a long journey. I wondered what great books I could look forward to, now that the 20-some year wait for this one story had come to an end. I should have known that Mr. King would not leave me hanging! My son, who was born 8 years after the first Gunslinger book, BTW, bought me the new "Wind.." book. Aah! Heee's back! What a great joy it was to jump back into Mid-world again. (And to Busnut, who posted a comment here...if we have to explain it to you, you're not a real King fan, and you wouldn't understand. Go turn on the Simpsons and have a smoothie or something!) Now I hear there'll be a movie version of the Dark Tower series. Excellent! I hope they can at least come within shouting distance to the actual story and capture some of the nuances that have proven to be so difficult to do in previous movies. They've not always been so true to the writers story as I'd hoped. In any event, I can't wait. Thank you Mr. King, for inviting us back into your world. I don't mind if I do!

When I read I escape one life and enter another. Although the outcome of the series will not change, I am very thankful to have yet another adventure to share with the gunslingers. All the hope my imagination needed to reassure me was the prescense oh the horn when Roland stepped out into the dessert once again. Roland will one day escape the cycle of The Dark Tower.

Absolutely loved this book, just as much as the other dark tower novels. Catching up with Rolands Ka-tet always feels like coming home. Please, please Mr king, write another one telling the tale of Jericho Hill. Thankee-sai.

I absolutely love the dark tower series and i have been reading them with an audiobook. I'm not trying to be mean but, although you can write fascinating and enthralling tales there is something you should know. You can't really read audiobooks. I've listened to your new novel: The Wind Through the Keyhole and have been bored by your voice, you can write great novel but leave the audiobooks to someone else. P.S. I loved you movie: Graveyard Shift.

I was super excited to find out SK had another DT book out. I've already bought "The Wind Through the Keyhole" and after reading it, decided to start over with the first book in the series. It's rare that I ever read a book twice but all of SK's books are worth reading again and again. This one is just as great as the other books in the DT series. I'll always be a "constant reader"!!

Roland was my first and only crush on a fictitous character. I am thrilled there is a new novel. I might have to revisit the entire series.

I have read the dark tower series from beginning to end, but until this visit to the website I had no idea that there was a short story and an 8th installment (4.5th installment) to the dark tower series... I appreciate all of your hard work Mr. King... And that's the truth (As Jake Chambers would undoubtedly have said)

I wonder if there is a place in the world of dark tower inwhich all the cars king created come from? like the evil version of Pixar's cars.

Some people just don't get it. King doesn't need your forgiveness, it's his story, his tale, you like or you don't and that's it. And the fact that you are still posting on his website, still interested, and still complaining, seems to me like deep down you love the whole thing, even the end, but has stubbornly stuck with the Jake thing and just can't let it go. Busnut, I think you missed the point of this book. It's not about changing the outcome of anything. It does not affect in any major way the last 3 books. But, if you are really a great fan, I think you just might find quite enjoyable reading more Mejis-like adventures of young Roland, and learn more about his relationship with his parents. Believe me, just this is worth the whole thing. But, as a big fan, you might as well like to have a better understanding of the bigger themes that make the background of the series, and many interesting things are revealed about many important characters involved with the Dark Tower tale. And yes, you will encounter Roland and his ka-tet again, and even if it makes not much of a difference what is told about Roland, Jake, Susannah, Eddie and Oy, is really good to meet them again. To wrapped it all up, this book has a very interesting narrative structure, quite innovative (to me anyway), and I really liked it! Waiting for more on Mid World Stephen!

Why wait all these years after the last book to now inject something in the middle of the series. It makes no sense as this book in no way will affect the outcome of the following 3 books. I am a great fan but feel this is a waste of my time going backwards.

I was quite disappointed with the last book; seemed like King was rushed to finish and ran out of inspiration. While I have known this was in the works for some time, I am not sure I want to get back knowing Jake is dead. Can't forgive King for saving Jake just to kill him later. Sorry.

Dear God why is there another book!? I just finished all 7, and even though it's been several months sense I finished my nerves are still shot! Especially after a strange day while in the middle of the last book, when I was feeling like something didn't want me to finish the story, the world seemed dark all day and the number 19 kept coming up in my money counts in the cash office. I kid you not. I thought my next goal was crazy enough, to read all of his novels in order, and now I see this! God help me....
