True, there might very well come along something worse in the future. But lets deal with this thing first. The sad thing about things that might happen in the future is that practically no political leader is willing to make plans that costs time and money on them. Thats the downside of how todays democracies function. You rarely think further than the next election. Making plans for 20-100 years ahead? Not my problem. Cant spend money on it. And so we will be unprepared next time too whatever it is, a virus, the zombieapocalypse or something else.
How does one plan for everything that could happen? For the last several decades here in the US (and practiced by both political parties) preparedness has involved keeping a minimal level of supplies stockpiled... enough to get us through a crisis until the free market kicks in and takes over the supply chain. That is a sound policy as long as we don’t go about wrecking the economy. Wrecking the economy is a sure way to guarantee anarchy.

And you can't depend on the government to provide everything... we all should have enough supplies on hand to feed every person in the household for three months. How many of us have that?

For some reason he always seems to be at his best in crisis. Last time was when there was a terrorist attack in central Stockholm. A lorry ran down a lot of people in a crowded street, a walking street, no cars allowed. Usually, when everything is at its normal, he appears a bit dull, colourless and never make a quick decision. But in crisis he appears confident and trustworthy for some reason. Strange.
Can he step in and run the US until this is over? Our 'leader' seems to be more interested in coloring Easter eggs than helping the country he swore he would protect.

Reminding folks (including myself) that we need to keep this from becoming a political or otherwise hot topic.

You're not turning into a flagellant are you, Dio?? (You know these people that believed that God punished humanity in the plague times and so decided that the best way to get him on good spirits again was to whip themselves. They wandered across Europe whipping themselves and probably spread the plague doing it)
You do see the way Ms Mod treats me, don't you? Perhaps my coming here over and over again has turned me into a flagellant. ;):)

Crazy folks back then... but I thought the spread of the plague was caused mainly by fleas and rats.

I think I need to run to the gas station and fill up my tank before prices skyrocket.
....national average gas prices were about .99 cents per gallon just the other day.....
Oh....I see what they're going to do. They're going to TAX the crap out of gas just like they've been doing with cigarettes! :D
Well, that's one way to generate revenue. :)
WATCH MaryJane is on the fast track to be legalized and have the crap taxed out of her too!
I'm all for it! :)
