I count anything and everything someone wants to watch for their movie marathon. It's their list. It's their experience. One year, I was counting all sorts of different things. I had a silent movie, a radio dramatization, a comic book anime thing made for the screen. And other stuff. It was my list and I wanted to share new things with ya'all. Different things. Interesting things. Outside the box things.
So, I think anything someone wants to use is their business.
In fact, one year, I told flake to use Rom Coms for her list because I PERSONALLY FIND THEM HORRIFYING!
Wait, whaaaat? I just counted two episodes of American Horror Story as my first movie this year. I wouldn't jump on you, I promise. You're lucky Dana Jean ! I couldn't even get away with counting two 45 minute American Horror Story episodes as one entry without people jumping all over me. Even though an hour and a half is the length of a regular movie (and it was okayed by everyone years ago as following the rules). You must be loved a whole bunch!
Another recent horror movie ripoff is a Netflix film about a deaf girl and her family trying to survive after the world is taken over by blind sound-sensitive monsters, now where have I heard that one before? (they didn''t even get a deaf person to play the deaf character). "The Silence"I always pick one real craptastic movie during my marathons. Sometimes it takes me a while and sometimes, I just dive right in.
1) It Waits (2005) FTV – So imagine a team that writes the movies for Hallmark got an assignment to write a horror flick. This might have been the output. Damaged young woman (she killed her best friend while drunk driving, but cops, et. al. believed the BF was driving so now she’s a lonely forest ranger drinking her sorrows away), good-looking young man (fellow forest ranger willing to look past her faults as long as they can be together). Throw in a cute animal (dead BFs parrot) and it’s a Hallmark movie. Add some dead college kids and hikers and a demon that accidentally got let out of its cave and it’s a cheapo Hallmark Halloween! Cheesy monster and FX. 1.5/5

This wasn't publisized at the time this first came out, but this is the first of a trilogy. It goes with Split and Mr. Glass if you are interested. Split is most definitely disturbing!3.) Unbreakable (2000). Mystery. This was listed under "Thrills and Chills" on Hulu. Had a comic book/superhero theme which is definitely not my thing (no offense to anyone - just not for me). Good cast and a decent story. Suspenseful, but not scary. Disturbing images at the end.
No TV and no beer makes Homer go crazymorgan - count what you want. I think the jumping on folks aren't around anymore.
My List:
2) Simpsons Treehouse of Horror-thon on Freeform -Season 2: Bad Dream House, Hungry are the Damned, The Raven; Season 7: The Thing and I, The Genesis Tub, Citizen Kang – Watched these with the kiddo last night. First time viewing for her. They did not do them in any order and will have more horror-thons as the month goes on that I will try to catch. Citizen Kang is timely and scary. Love this dysfunctional family! – 4/5
2019:
1) It Waits (2005) FTV - Cheesy monster and FS. 1.5/5
2) Simpsons Treehouse of Horror-thon (1990/1996) - Love this dysfunctional family! - 4/5
Of course, it's open for everyone!!OK, I'm late to find this thread but may i join? I love horrorflicks.
Don't sweat the details Tery! Whatever you're comfortable with. This isn't so much a competition as a club of like-minded horror enthusiasts!So... AHS episodes only count as half a movie?
