Not sure as we haven't been told what our holiday schedule is. My guess is that I'll have the 24th and 25th off but working the rest of the week and then the 31st and 1st off the following week. What is the board closing schedule for December and New Year?
Surely you will get the 26th off? Most people get Boxing Day off.Not sure as we haven't been told what our holiday schedule is. My guess is that I'll have the 24th and 25th off but working the rest of the week and then the 31st and 1st off the following week.
Boxing Day isn't a thing here so not a day we ever get off. It's usually dead the week between Christmas and New Years but I don't expect any more than the two days off each week.Surely you will get the 26th off? Most people get Boxing Day off.
What the heck!? Why not just have the 27th and 28th off too? I am not being sarcastic here - it's just that over the holidays most people are busy and don't really need to log in here. Plus there's always the Weekend Playground to go to.
Now I'm in big trouble for suggesting this

Not just Maine. I could be wrong but I don't think it's a holiday that's celebrated anywhere in the States. Not something I've ever heard anyone talk about. You guys in Maine are a bit strange! (but we love ya anyway)
Once again the SKMB become a learning experience. Never knew this....Not just Maine. I could be wrong but I don't think it's a holiday that's celebrated anywhere in the States. Not something I've ever heard anyone talk about.

Today, this traditionally secular holiday falls on the same day as St. Stephen’s Day, a religious holiday. In the United Kingdom, and in some former British commonwealths, this holiday is a bank holiday. If the day falls on a Sunday, then the following Monday is substituted for the banking holiday. In the United States, this day is celebrated as a public holiday in certain states. These include Texas, Kansas, Virginia, North and South Carolina and Kentucky.

December 26 is a day off for most workers where it's a state holiday. In places where it's not a public holiday, most families use up a vacation day, as most schools are closed. US presidents have given federal government workers either a full or half day off in some years.
Kwanzaa is another popular American observance post-Christmas.
What's Open or Closed?
The Day after Christmas is a public holiday in some states, including Kansas, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia. Government offices, educational institutions and many businesses are usually closed in these states.
