Had to deal with a bit of car-related stress, so I decided to cheer myself up by making some paper flowers over the weekend. I got a bunch of paper on sale and am determined to make enough to cover the walls in my room.

They are so lovely, where did you learn to make those? I have never saw ones that nice.

Thank you so much!!! I downloaded a free pattern from this blog (I used the Giant Rose pattern). I think I had to sign up with my email to get the pattern. The blogger can be a bit spammy with her emails (although she has some lovely crafts), but it was an easy unsubscribe process when the number of emails got to be too much. The flowers are so easy to make, too! Just paper, hot glue, and a bit of patience. I hand cut my petals, but the pattern download can also be used on a Cricut so the only step left is the gluing. You can also easily adjust the size and shape.

Thank you and I love your flowers which I somehow missed when you first posted the picture. How did you hang them on the wall so they stayed upright?

Thank you! I just hot glued a small piece of ribbon on the back of the flower to create a loop. So far they've held up without falling. I've also seen some people use pasteboard and make a small wall of flowers. I haven't tried it, but it seems like it would work.

You Will Need
  1. Rolls of toilet paper (any size)
  2. Fat Quarter cuts of fabric in colors of choice
  3. Cinnamon sticks or branches/twigs from outside
  4. Silk leaves. I like to pick them off of inexpensive bunches of flowers.

Directions

  1. Place the toilet paper roll in the middle of the fabric
  2. Wrap the edges of the fabric up and into the toilet paper roll (as seen in the video instructions above)
  3. Repeat until all of the fabric is tucked in. The fabric will hold itself in place!
  4. Add cinnamon sticks or twigs/branches
  5. Stick in a couple green leaves
