Ours as if right now are shut down until 4-30. Our Governor is having a press conference later today and I hope schools are part of what he will be discussing. I have no problem with school being online for the remainder of the year, I think it would be more disruptive to try to get everyone back into the daily at school routine at this point. But a decision needs to be made so school districts can then make decisions about graduations. I am pretty sure that is what our schools are waiting on.

Can't remember if I shared that seniors and parents were asked to do a survey about what we would want, in regard to graduation. We ranked the 3 choices
1) postpone to later date
2) virtual ceremony on originally scheduled date
3) cancel altogether
I agree, it's almost May, after all. Even after corona eventually dissipates a little I think we should still give it a week just in case. Better safe, than sorry

This might be starting a war, but I think it's only right to mention it. Are we absaloutley sure that social distancing and other Government related guidelines are having a real effect? Eight states in the US have not introduced lock down advice and have not had any different results from states who are practicing social distancing etc. We don't have any evidence that this is actually stemming the outbreak, do we not? In Sweden, restaurants and the like have not shut down, and the cases have peaked, but they have faired far better than other nations who have locked down, like my native UK. Doesn't this go against everything we are being told?
Wyoming is one of those states but that is completely misleading. We did not have a formal order put in place. But we have been staying home. Businesses are shut down. It irritates me to have Wyoming portrayed as being irresponsible. We are doing the same as everywhere else, just without a formal order.

That Wyoming part not directed at you, I just see it on the news over and over and it is irritating that people think it's business as usual here. It's not.

Mmmmm hmmmmmm, sure, if that helps you sleep at night. :) Maybe man crush means something different in Scotland. The definition here is: an intense and typically non-sexual liking or admiration felt by one man for another

Thanks panda. I apologize too. :) My nerves are shot this week between pissy teenagers and hour cuts at my husband's job and then layoffs for some of them, too. I guess it was/is my turn to be pissy. No excuse, I know. Just a frazzled mom reaction and I'm sorry.

It's fine, all of us teenagers are pissy from time to time

So sorry to hear this - in a case like that I think they should have called security - sounds like your attacker had some major mental health issues.
Either that or he was on something. Anyway he never struck me as a dangerous guy. He looked a little like an updated biblical prophet with beard to his navel and hair standing up with a wild look lacking the wellworded elequence of a prophet of course. He was at least 60 too so perhaps the boredom had been to much for him?? The best to do is ignore that type and close your ears, do your business and disappear. Dont try to argue with him.

Yes, it is having results that are a direct correlation to the social distancing, not based on just anecdotal reporting. I'd be interested to see your citation as it is entirely possible that those states have just not caught up to the rest of the country (or hadn't at the time of the report). Many are now seeing the outbreaks that the rest of the country had earlier.
But how does these Givernment guidelines explain the fact that Sweden, a country who has famously introduced no Lockdown, has less cases than Britain and Italy?

There could be a lot of factors involved including their testing practices. Sweden's infection rates are double that of its neighbors Denmark and Finland, and they imposed strict lockdown guidelines. Sweden's death toll is also higher than those countries. Medical experts here have been saying for quite some time now that testing more people will be one of the ways to ease up on restrictions so Sweden may be onto something there.
