I had my first "bad day" today. This is difficult. But, I showered, got dressed in pants that have buttons and a zipper, and fried bacon, toasted a croissant, chopped up bananas and strawberries, and counted my blessings.

And yet I still have to say, eff this sh**.
Yikes - sorry to hear this -oooh! Pants with buttons AND a zipper :okay: - sounds like you're doing okay - don't worry - this too shall pass ((((((SusanNorton))))))

Yes, it's saving lives and preventing the spread of the virus. It is my hope that everyone will do the same so that this can come to an end and I can get back to earning a living. I'm prepared to eat grass and grubs if I have to, but I'd much rather be earning money for my bills. I don't qualify for any unemployment in my state because I'm self employed, even though my business was mandated closed by the governor. The state is waiting on the federal pandemic funding guidelines before we can be paid. My daughter didn't qualify because she worked part time and didn't earn the minimum amount, even though the governor issued a stay at home order non nonessential businesses. I thought I would offer hair services at home, but learned that I can be charged with a Class II misdemeanor, and more importantly, lose my cosmetology license forever.
This virus is a serious business, and if everyone would have just sucked it up and sacrificed the 15 days in the beginning, maybe we would be in a better spot right now. Too few listened, now here we are.
Sunny, if you are an independent contractor who collects a 1099-MISC form you need to look into the PPP (Paycheck Protection Program). You can receive funds equivalent to 2.5 times your monthly wages plus some other things. You would need to apply through a bank that is a Small Business Administration lender. You can call them and they will help you navigate it. If you use the money you receive as intended all or part of it will be forgiven.

----

Do independent contractors count as employees for purposes of PPP loan forgiveness?
No. Independent contractors have the ability to apply for a PPP loan on their own, so they do not count for purposes of a borrower’s PPP loan forgiveness.

Can my PPP loan be forgiven in whole or in part?
Yes. The amount of loan forgiveness can be up to the full principal amount of the loan and any accrued interest. The actual amount of loan forgiveness will depend, in part, on the total amount of payroll costs, payments of interest on mortgage obligations incurred before February 15, 2020; rent payments on leases dated before February 15, 2020; and utility payments under service agreements dated before February 15, 2020 over the eight-week period following the date of the loan. However, not more than 25 percent of the loan forgiveness amount may be attributable to non-payroll costs.

I'm sure the wife wouldn't have any problem with Ms Ms, since she'd be bringing her an advanced copy of 'If It Bleeds,' of course. You, not so much, unless I'd stick you in the She Shed. :)
Wouldn't that make me one of those out-of-staters who gets special privileges when coming into your state, though? Wouldn't want to have any double standards going on. ;)
