I could have sworn this was a Shawshank reference, Marsha! You know ... the gretest film of all? :)
Okay, got it now.
Didn't Red say, "He won't last a day" as he was looking at Andy? Or was it another inmate he was referring to. Happened early in the movie.
Man, I've been having vivid wild dreams lately.
But not about Mother Abigail or the Walkin' Dude. :) ;)
....lol, just trying to stay more on topic and not be highjackin'. :) ;)

I have started a big regiistry over my books on an app i installed. Thought it would be a good thing to know which books i actually have without looking in my bookshelves all the time. When you have far over 2000 books, perhaps more, probably more, at home you need some to overlook it. So far i have registered about 1400 books. A lot left so there is perhaps over 3000 in the final tally. It takes a little time so these corona times have given me time to do it right. Hopefully i manages to finish this project.

Do you live in an apartment? Wow - that is a lot of books!

Only found out the other day my uncle passed away last week,he was in a nursing home and contracted covid-19 in there, funeral was strictly immediate family only as per the new rules. He was the last of my mother's family, I hadn't seen him in several years but I always remember him as being a funny, happy go lucky guy. R.I.P. Maurice. My brother in law's youngest daughter tested positive but she seems to be over the worst of it thank God.

Oh Notaro! I am so sorry for your loss. Remember him at his best is always the best practice.
Glad to hear the little girl is on the mend.
Terrible that she got sick.

Condolences to the family. Candle lit for Uncle Maurice. Healing vibes for BIL youngest daughter. You stay well and safe.

Very sorry for your family's loss. That's great news about your BIL's daughter, though.

Until today i hadn't met anyone or talked to anyone who was infected or know someone that was. I met a shopowner today i go to now and then and he told me an elderly familymember had died of corona. I bought a little more chocolate than i had planned because of it. Quite irrational really.

You're not alone in indulging in some comfort through food. I have a feeling psychiatrists would have a very rational explanation for it and there's a scientific reason for it. That's what I'm telling myself, at least, after having devoured an entire container of roasted red pepper hummus and pita chips in 2 days--only because I paced myself.

I am truly sorry to hear this Notaro. Heartfelt care to you and your kin and his friends. But I am well pleased that the daughter is improving.

Not irrational. We are in a moment in time of feeling very helpless. What do we do? How do we embrace someone for a loss when we can't embrace?

A simple gesture of buying a little more chocolate was a kindness to him and his business.

Reread your post after reading Dana Jean's response and realize I misunderstood what you were saying. You bought the chocolate because of what he said, not that you ate it as comfort food. I'll still stand by my comment that it wasn't irrational. Seems more like compassion to me.

Compassion, what's that? :)
Don't worry, Marsha, I'll ask the god of compassion?

Maybe it felt irrational but you probably (in your subconscious) wanted to show support for his store. On the other hand - more chocolate is a good thing! (was it the dark kind? - that's my favourite)
