GREAT BRITISH MENU

I really enjoyed this. It was 40 something episodes of chefs across Britain competing for a chance to serve the British Olympic athletes at a banquet. The food they cooked -- horrifying and scrumptious looking all at the same time.

Before I die, I want to eat rabbit and duck. Done by a chef that knows how to cook it properly.

My Best Fiend, by Werner Herzog. It's a documentary in which Herzog chronicles his trials and tribulations with the infamous actor, Klaus Kinski. Somehow, Herzog was able to put up with his insanity enough to make five films with him. That takes guts, in my opinion, and it makes me appreciate Herzog even more.

Has anyone watched the documentary The Staircase about author Michael Peterson's murder trial? I was aware of this trial at the time, I saw news reports about it. But, this documentary is very detailed.

Opinions on his innocence or guilt? I have my opinion, but I'd like to hear others if anyone would care to share.

Is this on Netflix?

Good morning - I just scrolled thru 2 pages and got my summer watchlist! Thank you Dana Jean ! I get caught up in trying to figure out what to watch, spend so much time looking, I never actually watch anything. I did watch What We Do in the Shadows recently - that was awesome! I think I'll start with Elvis - we're approaching Dead Elvis Week here, ya know. What Haunts Us.... yes. I meet so many with a tragic personal story. Have you ever noticed how almost every woman on My 600 Pound Life has sexual abuse in her past?

 at Scott's cartoon

Yes. Armchair psychologying here, but I'm sure their weight gets out of control young in hopes of becoming unappealing to their abuser, and they comfort eat to make themselves feel better. It's something they have control over.

I've said this in another thread, but it seems that childhood is a very dangerous time for children, and abuse runs rampant. I was one of the lucky ones, but as women I know get older and feel more confident in themselves, they are revealing to me that they were abused as children. It's heartbreaking and makes me physically ill for them. I hate it!

Oh fudge - when I saw this just now - I noticed that my large laughing smilie seems to be at the fact that those women were abused! That was intended for Scott's Daffy Duck & Bugs Bunny. Can you fix that? Laughing at the women was not my intent. My apologies - please fix. No laughing matter ever. And yes - childhood is so dangerous. I was hyper-vigilant about supervising my kids because of it.

I think it's more clear now that it was the cartoon but let me know if you want it changed a different way.

Baby Ballroom -- netflix

This was a really fun little series of shows. I love to watch dancing, and to see these young kids, just wow.

The show follows a group of kids from a successful dance school in England. My favorite little couple was Max and Olivia -- 8 and 9 respectively. Unbelievable talent.

The only thing that was a little disappointing was, the families of the boys involved make a big deal of saying their kid isn't Gay and that made me sad. WTH people. Can we just get over this? Who in the hell cares if someone is Gay? How is this directly changing anything about you? It isn't. Live and let live and let's move on. I don't care if these boys are Gay, it's none of my business. They were unbelievable athletes.
Season Two on Netflix. I love this show. hahaha! Amazing talent and fun.

And my favorite couple, Max and Olivia, have split up! They are 12. Olivia was just a better dancer of the two and needs to find a better partner. Max is terrific, but you could see the difference in the two's abilities.
