How goes the pool work??Last night on the way home I had to drive through sleet and hail. Will winter never end?
Grumble... Grumble... Grumble! I haven’t started. Still recuperating from a recent sticker shock. I texted my daughter the mathematician a question. 24 foot round pool and another 1.5 feet away from the pool to build a retaining wall. Four block high. How many feet of block do I need? She texted back 85 linear feet x 4. So I figure it out... that’s 340 linear feet, front face. $2.28 per retaining wall block 6” front and 11.5” back. 680 blocks x $2.28, plus landscape block adhesive, plus base stone, plus river rock between the pool and wall, plus tax, and delivery. Over $2,000! Just shoot me now!How goes the pool work??

Dio could go with this one. This looks like an empty margarine tub from Costco.

The lovely wife's. She said if she doesn't get a new pool she would divorce me. She didn't like my answer... "Let me think about that for a minute." And yeah, that's the look she wants. Although I didn't figure in a topper block. Better not show here that pick.Whose idea was this pool , anyway?
Yup that looks a lot like what it will be when finished, but they have about 3 feet clearance, I'm only going for 1.5 feet.Definitely cheaper (looks like something I could use!)
Is this the kind of pool it will be?
Okay - thought it was an ingroundYup that looks a lot like what it will be when finished, but they have about 3 feet clearance, I'm only going for 1.5 feet.
The wife wanted an inground. So I looked around. About $80,000 in total, plus another $2,000 yearly in taxes and insurance. I told her 'win the lottery!!!'Okay - thought it was an inground
WOW, I had no idea how expensive I ground pools were! Well, that was a nice dream, lol.The wife wanted an inground. So I looked around. About $80,000 in total, plus another $2,000 yearly in taxes and insurance. I told her 'win the lottery!!!'
It would have been about $55K-$65k for a real basic inground pool. But since my property is sloped a lot of extra work would have to be done, and I would have to reconfigure my deck, which brought up the priceWOW, I had no idea how expensive I ground pools were! Well, that was a nice dream, lol.
Hope the water recedes before it gets to be a problem. Stay safe!Sunny and warm, time to plant some basil and rosemary. Floods have started and noticed that during the night the City crews were here and put a 2 foot high wall of sandbags at the creek in my back yard. Here we go again
