Found this old poem by MrsSmeej from January 2014 (Hope she does not mind me posting it here):

I thought that New England had it tough with cold and snow
'til I heard that Mid West temps are 24 below...
That's so cold that body parts will freeze and then fall off;
So cold that your lungs go into shock - you start to cough.

That's so cold that 16 people have already died;
So cold that some planes can't fly - folks have to stay inside.
Right now, global warming seems like it could be a plan;
Weather like this is not fit for neither beast nor man.

Wonder if our coming January 2019 will be as cold?

I have to log off now - thanks for that trip down memory lane Dana Jean

Have to take my son to a doctor's appointment just after lunch today.

Morning has been a bust, just watching new coverage of straight line winds associated with the front that arrived this morning. Just to my east a mobile home development- 70 homes hit, 4 destroyed. Further inland, tornado ripping the roof off a home- 90 year old coupe- safe. Flood watches are out, and Friday will bring high winds and coastal flooding. This is "spring" weather, not late Dec! Thankful all safe here.

Safety shield for all in the path. We are supposed to get some of that late tonight, but not as severe. The weather guy said exactly what you did, Spidey. "Spring" system, not winter!!:oops:

Our weather was terrible last night. We had a huge storm. Felt like the roof is coming down or a tree fall on the roof soon. It was worst on the sea and for us
who lives on the coast. Actually they measured 41,2 m/sea in south Finland. But we only had 25 m/s or something like that. But the storm who they named
Aapeli, did a lot of damage around in the country. Here is one picture I took today when I was out walking with the dog. And the tree is laying on the lines. It's pretty dangerous...

Yesterday there was extensive straight winds and 5 tornadoes in the area. Today, it has been high winds with burst of fast moving T storms and -- ready-- Hail!!!!!!
As I post, the sun is back out and in 5 minutes the cycle will repeat for winds and rain. Are we sure it is December????
We had a few days of low seventies. Tornado scare, too. Glad you are okay.
