I noticed a few of the models have it turning North before it hits Florida taking it right along the coast. The coast hugger hurricanes can do a lot of flooding damage.
Please be safe-- Are you far enough inland to avoid tidal surge, flooding?

Always best to be on the east side of the storm. West is the dirty- tornado side. Be careful of flooding. They are predicting a lot of rain. Most of the time, it's much better to be below them than above them.
I'm a couple miles from the coast so I'm in good shape as far as storm surge goes.
Upgraded to a Cat 3 - Monday morning. Not looking good......................
Just viewed a predictor run of the American and European models. They stay the same and then one shows south thru Tampa/ other further north St. Augustine/ Jacksonville. This is getting tiresome---------------It's coming closer to me again. I guess it's time to start getting my act together.

Stay in touch as you can when SKMB is closed.
The two most well-known weather models are the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) model and the National Weather Service's Global ForecastSystem (GFS) model. They are more commonly known as the European and the American models, respectively.Which one of those are the Euro models? I can't tell from the initials. (maybe UKM) It seems to me that the Euro model is usually the closest.
fljoe0 ck out the American and European runs in the iink. They are getting closer. Do not like the time delay in landfall. Too warm water to strengthen.

That's good. If power out I lose well, so stocking in jugs now, and have bottled water in cases. Just put fresh batteries in all flashlight and candles. Want to get out tonight when daughter home and re stock batteries and some caned goods. Critter food too. County told us get a 7 day supply- once winds reach 45mph you on your own ( heck, that's an afternoon T storm!) Please stay safe. Use Playground as contact.I've got most everything I need. I always keep 20 gallons of bottled water at the house and I've got another 15 I can take here at the office. I've got a few empty 5 gallon jugs I can fill up for non drinking purposes. I need to get some gas still. I've got a supply of food but will stop by the store later and get some more. I'm good on batteries and have some portable solar panels I can use to charge a few things.
