The "Google dot see ay" page is saluting the coldest day in Canada today. It was minus 63 in Snag, Yukon there are this day in 1947

We are expecting between 3-5 inches today. That's ok, but we're getting some more of that frigid air too. Right now we're at -20F, with wind chill and they are warning that it will reach -40F, wind chill temps over the next 24 hours or so.

Sounds like a hot cocoa and blankie and book day to me!

Snow, sleet, freezing rain, now just plain old rain...all within the last three hours. Our roads in this area are a wreck....again..but.....they canceled non-essential personnel at the PD.....so I get the day off paid, which is ok by me:) Think I'll watch couple of Underworld movies. Kate and more Kate.:)

Wish me luck everyone. We are suffering from so much rain here in the South East in the UK. The stream that is about 40 foot away from my house has now turned into a river and is the highest I've ever seen it. It just won't quit and I really am getting worried now. Will be taking a bunch of stuff upstairs just in case.

Stay safe and keep us posted if you can as we'll worry.

I cringe from experience whenever I hear people doing that. I was a relief volunteer after Hurricane Agnes in Pennsylvania. People had moved all their belongings to the second floor when water was threatening. The river rose more than 25 feet. Helping to remove water soaked belongings and furniture when the river reached half way up the second floor was an absolute nightmare. Please stay safe and praying to the gods to keep the water at bay across the pond.
