I was on a job interview today. My third one. Met with the owner this time. Now I have to wait for next week to know. I always send thank you notes, but right now after my third interview and meeting with a bunch of people, I will be disappointed if they don't hire me. They called me about the job, I didn't call them, so you would think. Nervous about switching for many reasons though. However, worried about staying too.

Hi, friends. I would love some advice on this - I was one of three candidates called in for an interview, and my interview was last Monday. They told me that they would be interviewing the last candidate early this week, and then they'd let me know one way or another whether I got the job. I sent thank you notes to the man and woman who interviewed me, expressing my interest in the job. So - if they interviewed the last candidate early this week, and I still haven't heard anything today (Friday), would it be pushy for me to call and ask if they've made a decision, or should I just sit here and be a mess until I get a phone call or rejection letter? It's just that it's Friday, and I don't want to be a ball of nerves all weekend. What do you think?

Also, Good Luck! it's tough waiting! I know that much!

Here's hoping both of you get the jobs you want. About the original question - I think it's fine to show your interest. I know I get busy with other things and sometimes a week or two slips by after I interview someone and I don't realize it. It's actually great to get a note from someone to remind me I need to fill a position.

Here, there and everywhere.
Thanks again (and again and again, forever and ever, amen), everyone! Still haven't heard anything. I'm assuming that they either haven't made a decision yet, or they mailed out the rejection letters and I just haven't received one yet.

All of your kind words have made it easier for me to get through this weekend, and I feel much better. Thank you. :biglove:

...[per Mod]Good luck, SusanN, for whatever the best opportunity is for you--either this one or a better one later.
I think Mod's comment expresses a healthy attitude for anybody under the circumstances. It's obviously easy to feel rejected if we get a "rejection" letter, and to take one more personally than we should, and to get discouraged, especially in a bad economic environment. So, I say keep your head up no matter what they tell you, SusanNorton. Still, I'm praying they tell you what you'd like to hear.

Susan, sorry I could not answer you before... Good luck to you in anyway! Even if you do not get this job, I am sure there will still be a lot of chances for you! Sometimes, there is a reason to why things happen... I also got rejected by many companies I wanted to work in, but I am sure that is a right way for me, I strongly believe in destiny, that if things should not happen, they won't.

As for calling a company yourself... I tried that once and I received an answer that when they got a decision, they would call me. These things happen a lot... From my experience, if they do not call, that means they do not want to. Sad, but true. :ohnoes:

But I really hope things get better for you! I am sure you will find a great job! Good luck!

Susan, you would be well within your rights if you called them again and asked if you got the job. They are taking up your time after promising to let you know. If they had no intention of letting you know, they should have said that they would only call you if you got the job.
