I found out last Saturday that it was Thanksgiving weekend. Monday off!!!! Thankfully, foodwise, I only need to show up where I'm told to go. We went to the kids on Sunday and I ended up with a bit of a meat coma. Couldn't even make room for Pumpkin pie and whipping cream! (I had some the next day).

that is good. glad you had a good meat coma.

Good morning!

Thank you for all the well wishes, I am feeling better finally. All kinds of germy stuff working through town already. Have Ty home with me today. I think he probably would have been ok to go to school, but better safe than sorry. Alison is the only one in school today, Evan is out hunting with Scott.

We added to our family this weekend. We got a bloodhound pup. We have named her Lily and she is already 100% at home with us. I will post pics in the puppy thread!

Hope everyone is doing fine. Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

Yes, Steve lived on campus or in the area for the years that he attended UMaine. His hometown was too far away to commute.
After reading the part in Hearts in Atlantis where he describes the card games I feel like he used some of his own personal experiences in this book - that was a cool book - I loved it.

So writing a thank you email to an interviewer any thoughts do people still do this. It was something I was taught to do in school but was curious if it was still practiced.
Don't follow what everyone else is doing. Stand out from the crowd and write your thank you! It will make you look classy. And it's good manners.

O of course I wrote the thank you first thing this morning I was curious if this was something that is still taught or practiced today. My guess is no simply due to the email response I received in return from the interviewer.

She/he will remember you favorably from now on. You left a good impression. And no, I don't think they teach that or practice it much today. People obviously say thank you, but the formal note is going by the wayside I think.

Did you have formal letter written within your High School English classes? I remember in Elementary school- nuns! Proper salutations/ form etc.
Old crabby lady, so I still hand write( now print) thank you notes. Have one friend un tech, so a monthly handwritten letter.

No. But, it's something I do. Not always in a formal way, but I always make sure to thank someone for their kindness. Formal way is so much nicer, though.

Not in school but in cotillion classes. When I was young.
