YES I ordered HCs of Mine and Queen of Bedlam, and a PB of They Thirst. I've read that one, but don't own a copy (TB didn't have a HC). I haven't read either of the others. Also, skimom2... check out Mine... it terrified me.
Of the ones you mentioned, I liked Gone South the most. It would make an excellent movie!Oh, yes!! I would reread it, but I have so many other McCammons to get to: The Five, The Wolf's Hour, Gone South, the Matthew Corbett series, the I Travel by Night trilogy, et cetera... So many!
But who would they cast to play the guy with the twin growing out of his belly?Of the ones you mentioned, I liked Gone South the most. It would make an excellent movie!

I know you may not want to pay full price but The Alabama Booksmith (near me) offers signed first editions and they have a website. They only charge retail, no markup. They usually stay stocked up on his books.I still need to find signed copies of Usher's Passing, Gone South, Queen Of Bedlam hdbk and Mister Slaughter from Sub Press.
I use the Booksmith! IMO, jacket price is more than fair for a signed first, especially considering how beautifully McCammon's books tend to be...I know you may not want to pay full price but The Alabama Booksmith (near me) offers signed first editions and they have a website. ...nah, that's just KRF's "you gots a signed book I don't" stench....Just rolled some quarters-- ended up with $60, all ready to be deposited into my bank account. Do I smell more McCammon books? I think I do.
It's okay.... maybe his original Bachman paperbacks will get him thru the night....nah, that's just KRF's "you gots a signed book I don't" stench....
...hey, just got a note from Koontz's website...he's started on number 4 in the Jane Hawk adventures!!!!!....It's okay.... maybe his original Bachman paperbacks will get him thru the night.
WHAT! That's great news! How does he do it....hey, just got a note from Koontz's website...he's started on number 4 in the Jane Hawk adventures!!!!!....
Bethany ' s Sin is sitting in my TBR pile. The cover put me off for a while--looks like my mom's old bodice ripper books (lol). They Thirst was a pretty good vampire novel. Very plot driven, as opposed to character driven (like Boy's Life). I can't remember a single character's name, in fact, but entire scenes are still very clear in my mind, even a few years after reading it once. So, has anyone read McCammon's early stuff? Baal, Bethany's Sin, The Night Boat, They Thirst? Opinions?
I really wish it would be made into a film. Can you imagine? And I don't mean some Lifetime movie-of-the-week either! Don't really much care for her but I think Jennifer Lawrence would be great as the Mom.
The signed/limiteds that were published by River City (publisher of the hardback of Speaks The Nightbird) go for hundreds.
I used the green one to show my envy.......nah, that's just KRF's "you gots a signed book I don't" stench....
Yes, I remember the stir it caused when Darabont was mentioned that he had wanted to do this film. I really wish it could get made. The plot is just fantastic and it just doesn't stop.Starting around 2005 or so, Frank Darabont tried for about seven years to get a film version of MINE made. Studios weren't interested because the two lead characters were women.
True story. Idiots.
