So, I am working on getting a script prepared for my wedding coming up in mid-June, and both my fiance and I love Stephen King. So, we wanted a reading from his work. However, I'm having a hard time finding one that I want to use. Every time I do a search for something to use I come up with the same few passages from The Body, 11.22.63, Lisey's Story, and Bag of Bones. I know there have to be more out there, he's written so much, and I've read so much. I remember years ago reading some things and thinking, "Wow, this is beautiful!" But that was YEARS ago. I can't even remember what books I'm thinking of now! Any suggestions would be wonderful!

Thank you so much!

“Friends.
They aren’t any such thing as good friend or bad friend.
Maybe there are just friend.
People who stand by you when you're hurt and who helped you feel not so lonely.
Maybe there are worth being scared for and hoping for and living for.
Maybe worth dying for too.
If that what has to be.
No bad friends.
Only people you want.
Need to be with.
People who build their houses in your heart.”

“love is what moves the world, I've always thought...it is the only thing which allows men and women to stand in a world where gravity always seems to want to pull them down...bring them low...and make them crawl...”

“If there is love, smallpox scars are as pretty as dimples. I'll love your face no matter what it looks like. Because it's yours.”

“We did not ask for this room or this music. We were invited in. Therefore, because the dark surrounds us, let us turn our faces to the light. Let us endure hardship to be grateful for plenty. We have been given pain to be astounded by joy. We have been given life to deny death. We did not ask for this room or this music. But because we are here, let us dance.”

Welcome to the SKMB Victoria O'Dell! Those are great suggestions up there. Others with better memories than me will be along. If I were to go searching through books on marital love though, I think Lisey's Story would be a good one to try. And maybe Wizards and Glass - Roland must have said some wonderful things about Susan that I can't remember. Congratulations on the wedding!

Sometimes when you're young, you have moments of such happiness, you think you're living on someplace magical, like Atlantis must have been. Then we grow up and our hearts break into two.”
Stephen King, Hearts in Atlantis

“At the end of her life she was aware of heat but not pain. She had time to consider his eyes, eyes of that blue which is the color of the sky at first light of the morning. She had time to think of him on the Drop, riding Rusher flat out with his black hair flying back from his temples and his neckerchief rippling; to see him laughing with an ease and freedom he would never find again in the long life which stretched out for him beyond hers, and it was his laughter she took with her as she went out, fleeing the light and heat in to the silkly, consoling dark, calling to him over and over as she went, calling bird and bear and hare and fish.”
Stephen King, Wizard and Glass

I think he said "Books are a uniquely portable magic"

Sorry - my 10 minutes are up (to edit) so I had to make a new post. I was not correcting YOU GNTLGNT - it is just that people misquote him in memes quite often.

I did find something on page 432 of a paperback copy of 11/22/63:

"On the subject of love at first sight, I'm with the Beatles: I believe that it happens all the time.

Not sure if the above quote would work for you, but it is the only one I could find on short notice.
