I just found a delicious sounding recipe using spaghetti squash - only problem is it calls for 2 cups of heavy cream, 4 tablespoons of butter and 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese!I'm not a huge fan of spaghetti squash. It's okay, but don't expect it to taste like pasta just because it can be made to look like it. If your goal is to be reducing the number of points you're using and eating more vegetables (although technically it's a fruit), it works for that.
I didn't even pick up on her sarcasm. Heh. I'm either really stupid or really generous. You decide.
That does sound good. My guess is it would be pretty high in points but might not be as bad as you might think depending on how many servings it makes.I just found a delicious sounding recipe using spaghetti squash - only problem is it calls for 2 cups of heavy cream, 4 tablespoons of butter and 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese!
Cooking spray
1 large spaghetti squash (about 3 lbs)
2 cups heavy cream
4 Tbsp unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tsp fresh thyme leaves, chopped
1 cup grated Parmesan
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 ½ lb(s) baking potatoes, such as russets (about 2 large potatoes)
I can't be bothered figuring out just how many calories would be in this recipe but it sounds like something Andy would make (i.e. chef approved) which is easy for him since he is quite skinny
It does look appetizing I must admit
No, don't feel bad. I live in my own special world and see things others don't. Sometimes rightly so, sometimes not.I didn't even pick up on her sarcasm. Heh. I'm either really stupid or really generous. You decide.
I find it funny that they use cooking spray for the casserole dish but I guess that is for convenience rather than to save caloriesThat does sound good. My guess is it would be pretty high in points but might not be as bad as you might think depending on how many servings it makes.

That's the reason I never bother with the desserts that are "only" 4 or 5 points. The serving size is tiny and wouldn't be enough to satisfy my sweet tooth so better to just not have any.I find it funny that they use cooking spray for the casserole dish but I guess that is for convenience rather than to save calories
Turns out you are right - the recipe on Food Network says it makes 8 to 10 servings so even though the calories are high (2848 - yeah I figured it out after all) if you only had a small serving it would be 356 for 1/8th or 284 for 1/10th) - the problem is - if it tastes that good it's hard to have just a little bit!
Sure thingOh sure I can - would you mind just popping over and showing me what you are talking about?
See, isn't that interesting? Doc saw sarcasm, Neesy saw a beginning photo, and I saw a cheeky little joke.
I didn't look at it as sarcasm - I must have a weird way of looking at things because I thought "Okay - I'll take a pic right now before I do anything with it"
By the way Burger King actually sounds good - I like to go there and get their "Senior tea special" - only 85 cents!

We all must stop and remember that without being in each other's presence to know, we see and "hear" different things. Not bad necessarily, just different. We need to practice grace sometimes when reacting to each other's posts and ponder intent.
When I tried to make it -40 on the little dial thing at the bottom it just got bigger
I agree. I think that's why I tend to use a lot of emojis. I'm not easily offended, though. Practicing grace is excellent advice. We all like to be given the benefit of the doubt.See, isn't that interesting? Doc saw sarcasm, Neesy saw a beginning photo, and I saw a cheeky little joke.

I must admit some small part of me did sort of 'smirk' a bit when I thought it would be cute to post the squash pre-cooked state - you are right however as it is easy to take offense when none was intended - email and internet is not subtle - it always helps when you can talk to someone face to face and see their body language.See, isn't that interesting? Yes - I moved it both to the left and to the right and either way the squash appeared to get bigger and fill the frameYou’re welcome,
Is this what you mean?View attachment 30208
