CoriSCapnSkip While I was looking for a photo of the book I'm reading, I found that Ray Bradbury wrote the intro to the 2012 edition - did you know? You might enjoy!

I am reading The Outsider right now and am about halfway through. Not too bad so far.. I am just to the point where the detective that Ralph doesn't like went out to the farm, that particular sequence I found effective. Once had to search a basement of a huge abandoned factory, after intruders had been reported by passersby. Naturally it was very dark, and then I located a staircase that actually went below the basement to like a sub- basement. Got a serious case of the creeps searching that area being alone in the dark way down there and your imagination runs wild, wondering what would happen if somehow I got trapped or attacked by the intruders and couldn't get to my radio, or if my flashlight should fail.. coming up the stairs and reaching the door and coming out into the sunshine was like being born again... That's why SK is so effective, he can reach into the fear that a person may have from their experiences and bring it forth for examination..

I cannot count the times that I've been in the dark, whether it's in a very creepy place or just the bathroom with the light out at night and have uttered the words... "Oh damn you, Stephen... damn you for making me think of scary things right now...."

Finished Robert Harris Munich . Historical spy/thriller story set around the negotiations between Hitler and Chamberlain in 1938 anout Czechoslpvakia. It was OK but Harris can be better. Wellresearched and constructed plotwise. The main persons are diplomats serving one on each side but otherwise there are a lot of real characters playing big parts.
