build a small floating boat thingy and light it on fire and send it out on a nearby body of water. Seems fitting.

What shoes do you where scketchers

Sounds like you need some new shoes!! Check with your co-workers, new boss. See what others are wearing. You need to protect those tootsies!!

Socks- make sure you have cotton absorbent socks. CK with an athletic shoe place, either at mall or on line. There are special socks for runner and walkers. They do make a difference.

Oh Neesy you have to look after those feet. I was thinking the same way as Spideyman and Hill lover35,
socks and shoes are really important. I get cotton socks at The Bay and they are great. Did your doctor suggest
anything? Maybe some special insoles(Dr Scholls) for the shoes too.

....sounds like better fitting shoes and padded socks are in order, plus if you have a lot of sweating-use foot powder or a dry spray on deodorant for your feet before you socks em up...

Thanks for all your suggestions - I'll try them all until my legs and feet get used to the extra activity.

Guess I took my feet for granted in the past - it's something I would not normally think of - when I used to work on my computer at work I actually just took my shoes off - nobody could see my feet under the desk in the cubicle anyway.

are theses for young brides.do they still play games
The one last night did. The first one was "How well do you know the groom?" Well, not at all! :D I've never met the guy. I did get one answer right: "What is his favorite meal?" Steak and potatoes! Pure guess, but I don't know a lot of young men who WOULDN'T answer that--lol!

Today I spent most of the day with my feet up (yesterday too) - saw a nurse practitioner at a walk-in clinic for my feet.

Blisters are getting better and the weird rash on my lower legs is fading. - Monday is a day off for me so that gives me another 24 hours to recuperate.

Think I'm on evenings on Tuesdays but I'll have to check

Glad to hear you're feeling better!

I thought of you on Friday after work. My shoes that I've worn for three years wore huge blisters on the bottom of my heels. It looked like Mick Jagger's lip on the bottom of my feet! I could barely walk by the time I finished work. They still hurt today.

That's weird that it would just suddenly start like that - it sounds like both you and I need to go shoe shopping and throw out our old ones!

No - that was already ruled out - I've never had anything like this before - I hope I don't end up with discoloration (I like to wear skirts or dresses sometimes in the nice weather),

I'm glad you're better. that was a frightening looking rash in your spoiler - what did the nurse practitioner say about it?

She said keep an eye on the blisters on my toes so they don't get infected

- she could not form a definite diagnosis on what I had on my legs - she did use the words "necrotizing fasciitis" at one point (I should have asked her if she was a Stephen King fan) but only in reference to the fact that someone had it and was on the news [guess I missed that story] :dunno:

Just hope that by the time I am ready to return to work I am able to walk - it hurt so much on Saturday that I had to take Tylenol 3s for my right toe blister and the pain actually woke me up!

Thanks HollyGolightly :biglove:

I planted flowers today-I found the elusive red petunia - I've got two pots full. I don't know why I have such a hard time finding them. Maybe everyone else loves them too and they get gone quickly. I hear they attract humming birds. I get crazy excited when I spy humming birds in my yard.

We went a little crazy about the vegetable garden this year. We've always grown a few things but this year we tilled up two 4' x 8' patches. It'll be fun and delicious - I hope.

Hope it's turning lovely where you all are!
