I love that "Happy Camper"! I would like an RV too.
You know what? It was pouring down rain today - I ran out to the camper with a tea towel and a big hunk of duct tape because the guy had pried up a little bit of the stuff that goes around the vent. He said "see - it's leaking right here"

Well, there was no leak there at all. I did stick that tape on there anyway in case it is a hairline crack, but I think they were wrong - the ceiling got damaged when the vent was pried up.

Coincidentally - guess who was peering up at me through the crack in the fence? Yup - neighbor's little children - not sure where Mom was and why her kids were out in the rain.

I said to them "What are you doing?" and of course they chimed "Nothing!"
:pat: Poor kids - I guess they are not well taken care of (not neglected or anything - just allowed to run wild)

I've been spending too much time on the internet because I moved to a city where I have no friends. I used to use school as a crutch for making friends. Now I'm only working so it's hard to build a social life. I have only 5 coworkers. They're all older than me and they have kids. I have 4 books on top of my dresser that I still haven't read. I should also be making art since I went to art school, but I've been slacking off. I need a kick to get going.

Choose one of your four books, read it, then come back here and tell us what you thought of the book.
You can do this....

Yes (in my opinion) - they run all over the back lane and go into people's property. I came home back in May and the vent had been pried open and was stuck in an upright position in one corner. I did force it down and then wrapped a lot of duct tape around it, but I am sure with the heavy rains that some water got in.

Anyway I don't have a video tape or anything like a witness to prove it, unfortunately.

But honestly, who does that? It had to be a kid trying to look inside - I cannot see an adult doing something so silly.

Plus when we moved the tent trailer there was a rubber ball underneath, so they were probably looking for their ball.

We have this sort of socialist or communist (or whatever) kind of auto insurance out here and it is like pulling teeth to get a claim put through.

It's called Autopac. Oh well, at least I got to move the trailer, have a friend help me hook it up to Andy's Durango etc. and took it for a little ride down Main Street.

The tires need to be pumped up a bit, but overall, even with the bit of water damage on the ceiling, it's still a darn nice looking little RV (well, not all that little - actually 23 feet when it's opened up)

Cool! I found a video of the exact model and year I have - it's a 1999 and I bought it for $10000 in 2000.

Andy is in poor health and lost a lot of weight after cancer and surgery - I think that is why he wants to upgrade to the kind that is all ready to go, as there is a bit of work involved in putting up the tent trailer and then taking it down again.

p.s. When Andy got back home from up North in early June and opened up the trailer, he turned the handle on the vent cover inside and it just popped back down into position! (I wish I had known - I could have done the same thing myself) :facepalm_smiley:

Have you considered getting some sort of counselling? Is there an Employee Assistance Plan or something like that?

Good luck - it just takes time and you need something to keep you busy and your mind occupied so you don't dwell on what happened.

Sorry your boyfriend turned out to be such an A-hole

I just watched that video and this guy (an American from Texas) has an air conditioner in his - we did not get that option.

(Up in Canada it's cold for many months of the year, so not really needed much) Although with all this "Global warming" apparently going on, it might start getting a lot hotter in the summers.

I was thinking of trying this new place that opened in my town. It's only minutes from me but I bet the lines are long. Their prices are high, I hear, but it's probably a great place for a date or destination ice-cream joint. Some of the milkshakes in this video would put someone in a sugar coma, LOL, too decadent. That S'mores and Banana Pudding milkshake looked pretty good. What do you guys think?

It looks great but...I tend to use my calories eating flout tortillas, bacon and sausage. I don't like to use them eating ice cream and I certainly couldn't make a dent in those shakes. I tend to eat often not a lot.

If you can appreciate it, go for it, sir. If you do, pictures and a review please.

Deal. I agree about the calories. Although I make cakes and pies on occasion, I only eat one slice and hardly ever eat ice-cream. I love my bread, though. Cornbread, biscuits, and yeast rolls. If I ordered one of these milkshakes I'd probably eat half and freeze the leftovers. I've learned depriving oneself only creates a stronger craving. One slice of pizza, one scoop of ice-cream, one beer (ok, four)...it's all in the moderation.

I like sweets-chocolate especially but I tend to savory and spicy. Oh, if I want something, crave something, I'm going to have some. Like you, some. (Long, long ago, I learned: if I crave something, eat some of it, if not I wind up eating the refrigerator, the pantry and my toes and eventually... what I craved in the first place. =D )

Ice cream is my favorite dessert, but those shakes? Blech. Too much mess. It's like a kid tried to make them and messed up. I don't like to eat anything that looks like someone already ate it. Plus, how could you order that thing with the pearl candy and a whole cupcake shoved into the top without thinking everyone is watching you make a pig of yourself? I don't think you could get it 'to go' unless you don't mind your car being a mess too. Give me a nice, neat swirl cone. But don't let me influence you, Doc. :)

I think that's the point, plus everyone else is doing the same thing. You're right about the takeout, not the best idea. I'm an OCD-type of person so I'd need an excess of napkins. My guess is they want to stand out and serve creative milkshakes with panache. Some steakhouses have similar gimmicks where the music is loud, food messy, and the waiters carelessly slosh beer onto the wooden floor strewn with peanut shells.
