Oh, she sputtered and stammered and said she just figured it would cost less since it wasn't a "whole haircut"...... I explained that I did cut all of the hair that she wanted cut, and since I didn't cut just one side, it was considered a whole haircut. She paid me, and then asked our manager if she thought I had overcharged. Manager said no, the price is the price.
...what a jackass.....

I don't envy you your job.

If you still have some of the old quilts, even the ones you think are beyond repair, there are so many ways you can restore them . Maybe not really use them anymore as they are delicate, but you could display them. I so wish, also, that I would have paid more attention to my grandma and her sisters while they were doing all these quilt things. Just beautiful art.
No,the quilts are long gone I'm afraid. I have the memory of them, and the memory of my grandma and her relatives henpecking my dad and grandpa to set up the quilt frame on the kitchen table and other furniture, so they could all spend a few hours tying their quilts.

Are these Devices allowed in the US ?
Here, you have to Pay a Fine if the Police catches you
I just found out on-line that radar detectors are legal in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan - all other provinces and territories of Canada they're illegal.

(oh - and apparently in New Brunswick too - a different link) - if it is found in your car it will be confiscated

New Brunswick is right next to Maine - surprised it is not colored grey in this pic

The last couple days:

I bought myself flowers.

At the grocery store, I walked by a couple homeless young men, boys really, who looked hot, tired and carved out of clods of dirt. They weren't panhandling, just sitting in the shade with their dog. I bought the dog food for a week, walked by them and just handed them the bag. The guy said thank you so softly, and he looked so sad. I didn't get them food as there is a shelter in town that does that, but I wasn't sure where the food for the dog came from. I have no doubt they shared their food. Do shelters allow dogs? Do they feed the pets of the homeless?

I donated books, clothes, bedding, house goods. I recycled two computer towers.

I bought the ingredients so my son could make us Dill Pickle Soup. yummm. My mom used to make this, and we hadn't had it in almost 9 years. He did a great job.

I spray painted an iron pig I have out in the back yard. Every spring, I change the color of this pig. This year she is glittery pink! A little late getting her done, but, life sort of kicked me around for a bit and I had no energy or desire.

I've eaten two Pomegranate popsicles. The only sugar I allow myself for months now.

I'm working on a quilt top that my husband's grandmother made, that she pieced by hand. It's just a little 9 patch square pattern, but she made about fifty of these, all hand sewn. The material choices are old, not particularly pretty, the patterns and textures are not necessarily pleasing to the eye, but, I love the rag tag way she just grabbed a piece and started sewing. These were made for utilitarian reasons, not for pretty. And, I'm sure she used fabric she had on hand, probably old clothes recycled. There is Daniel Boone novelty prints in there! Anyway, I'm going to piece it together, take it to a quilter and have it made.

It will be beautiful. Grandma just died this spring at 99.

I live where we have photo radar, so it beeps at you or alerts you when it detects the radar police and it gives your u a chance to slow down. If you do not slow down, or do not notice the police detector you pay a fine. Lots of people where I live have them. I do. Ot own one as I think they are silly

I still think that Maine should have been part of Canada. It looks so odd it being in the USA on the map

A long time ago i was riding with a friend of mine. He had a souped up chevy S10 pickup with a radar detector. For whatever reason it didn't pick up a state trooper who was sitting under an overpass. My friend was speeding pretty badly. The trooper pulled us over, walked up to the driver's side and calmly asked for my friend's license. He gave it to him, trooper went back to his vehicle and was gone for a while which, as most people know, is usually a sign you're getting a ticket. Sure enough, the trooper walked back up to Jeff's window, explained to him that he was giving him a citation for speeding and started to hand it to him to sign. Jeff just had to ask him how the trooper had caught him speeding being as he had a radar detector. The trooper just looked at him, reached into Jeff's window and tapped the radar detector. "The only thing these things are good for is to absolutely GUARANTEE you get one of these.", then handed Jeff his copy of the citation. "You boys stay out of trouble." I was cackling by the time the trooper got back to his vehicle. I had to give the trooper that one, it was pretty good.

Obviously Manitoba Public Insurance did not buy my story (yet I was telling the truth!):m_innocent:

It is frustrating- anyway I went to Happy Camper RV and no I'm not making that name up

Bought some supplies - too bad Andy is not here to help with these things

On a more positive note - our new fence is gorgeous :m_thumbsup:

The guy at Happy Camper estimated the value of the tent trailer at around $5000 so maybe we can trade up next summer;

we would prefer something where you don't have to crank it up and it's just ready to go as soon as you park it

Thanks for the good wishes anyway Holly!
I love that "Happy Camper"! I would like an RV too.
