Granddaughters school was still closed due to weather. We went for a walk to the mall. The city has not cleared the sidewalks yet. The complex cleaned the walkways, but left large hills of ice/snow leading to sidewalks, so it was hard escaping with a stroller. Finally made it to the sidewalk, which was not cleared. I struggled pushing the stroller through...this was not smooth snow, it was frozen all ridgey. Get across the street from the mall. The city had cleared the road and there was a two foot hill of ice to get over. No way could I lift the stroller. Turned around and went home.

Normally that would take about 20 minutes. It took over 90. By the time I got home my shoulder was just screaming in pain. Advil took care of that.

Sounds like you're having as nice a 'spring' as we are.....

Guess I should call the sister in Richmond Hill (just north of T.O.)

Today I picked up my son, bought a cappuccino and muffin at a drive through, then decided to splurge and get a Starbucks at their drive through (something called Teavana or whatever - made with black tea - it wasn't too bad).

The only excitement we had in Winnipeg recently was a dramatic rescue from the partially frozen river - a girl tried to cross and got trapped. She was hanging on to a tree branch and screaming.

They had the rescue crews out and then used the police helicopter to monitor it all. She's okay now and in the hospital.

It’s pretty hard to win these types of contests.

Maybe you could try again some time in the future.

Sorry you are disappointed but to be honest I found Disneyland in Florida to be less exciting than anticipated.

Maybe I’m just weird or strange.

Well it’s a bad time to go to Disney land anyway, their is lots of construction going on, between retheamkng caloforna adventure

I went and bought a large mug of flat white coffee and a warmed-up apricot danish pastry for breakfast at the coffee shop. Later I read something, I had a sandwich for lunch(tomato and cheese). I feel depressed today compared to yesterday. I had a funny dream this morning. I'm not shure if I should have a beer in one hour's time as I haven't had anything to drink since Sunday. I listened to NPR newshour on Australian ABC on my portable little radio I carry. They were talking about the Starbuck's thing. I will most probably listen to 'talkin' sport' later on with the ex-league players and cricketer. I wish I had been an elite sportsperson or musician.
