Since I was a little girl, my mom always gave me a chocolate rabbit for Easter. Always. Even as an adult. My mom passed away 6 years ago and it has been difficult for me. She was my buddy. I went from talking to someone on the phone 5 times a day to just nothing. To seeing her at least once a day, to nothing. It's a very surreal feeling. Many of you have experienced it. And all of us who go through a loss have to experience those "first time" things without them. The first minute, the first hour, the first day, the first morning, the first meal, the first holiday.... you know what I'm saying. It is brutal.
But, I have an older son who picked up the torch unexpectedly. Such a small gesture, but one that gives me great peace and love. Since my mom's passing, my boy has given me a chocolate rabbit.
Wishing you all a wonderful Easter, or just a super nice Sunday! (Or Monday for Flakers and all of you who are ahead)
And don't forget -- The Ten Commandments is on tonight! lol!
