i just finished watching an Old movie entitled "The Sting" (again, pops recommend this film for me) in my laptop with a DVD-rom in it.

The Plot twist surprised me a lot (like i felt three emotions at the same time), and it so good, i like Newman and Redford tandem since Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid and this film made me love them a lot.
this film is so excellent, wanna watch it with my bro, but i'm so sad that my bro do not like films like this.

ps. gotta admit that Redford and Newman was so hot in their ages at this film, especially Redford, but i love Newman than him lol

I have always loved this movie! I was in the sixth grade when I saw it. I loved it! I think it was around time I saw "Cool Hand Luke", which I also enjoyed. That must have been during my, "I think it would be cool to be a grifter" phase. :single_eye:

The WordSlinger himself tweeted about this one:

Stephen King on Twitter: "How good is HUSH? Up there with HALLOWEEN and--even more--WAIT UNTIL DARK. White knuckle time. On Netflix."

HUSH - on Netflix.

He was so right. A deaf/mute writer must literally write an ending that allows her to escape the clutches of a tortuous killer. A real nail biter.

Even has a King easter egg!
Audrey Hepburn was so good in Wait Until Dark.

And it is also very reminiscent of Mia Farrow's 1971, See No Evil. She was a blind girl and the tension that was built in this was also chilling.

The fact that this girl is deaf in this movie -- score! I am learning sign language so the bit of sign language she does, I understand!

Great movies. Well worth watching again. Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte & What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? are a couple other good ones.

Over The Edge- Late 70's drama about teen destructiveness in a planned suburban community. Considered a cult classic these days. Was on HBO like a bazillion times a week in the late 80's. Great soundtrack. You can see this movie's influence on Dazed and Confused and other teen-centric dramas. This movie was Matt Dillion's first role.

The Interview- Comedic craziness from Seth Rogen and James Franco. Over the top and silly but enjoyable.

The Sting is a classic, but not "old"! (Said the lady who is about as old as that movie) :a17:

Lol, i'm so sorry, btw when i posted my entire reaction abot the sting in my Facebook account, i use a phrase "classic" not "old" so nothing to worry lol

I burst in laughter at some scene, especially when Newman's character was introduced after i think 15-20 minutes since the film started.

I really want to watch it with my family but i guess, only my dad and my uncles would watch it together with me. Sad

Watched "Primer" last night on Netflix. A low budget time travel movie that flew about six miles above my head. Well done and obviously a lot of thought went into the movie, but perhaps a bit too much thought for my non-engineer brain. Anyone seen this one?
Is that the one about watching paint dry?

ha ha that was just a dumb joke

No - I have not seen it yet. IMDB gives is a 7, for whatever that is worth :umm:

I loved it. I would like to see the 70mm version. Maybe they will put it back on the road in the future. I have heard that the 70mm version is playing in a couple of theaters in Australia. There was a doc on the blu-ray about the 70mm version that was very interesting. Quentin went to the Ultra Panavision offices (or maybe it was a museum since they haven't shot an ultra panavision flick in 50 years) and borrowed some equipment that hasn't seen the light of day for 50 years. It looks great on blu-ray (it's very wide) but those who have seen the 70mm version say that no other format can compare to the ultra panavision version in a theater. They had quite a few issues showing the 70mm movie, however because there is almost no one left who knows how to operate the projectors and equipment required to show it and there are not that many theaters able to show it. Maybe they can work out the bugs and put it back on the road some day. They only showed the 70mm version 2 days in the US (Christmas and New Years).

The 70 mm version is longer than the regular theater (and blu-ray) versions and includes an overture and intermission.

Oh yes.

Don't feel bad. Many have tried to map out the possible plot permutations. Check these diagrams out.

Here's the most common one:

Oh, I remember that one. Pretty decent flick. Speaking of movies about nihilistic 1980s kids with the word Edge in the title, might I suggest:

The River's Edge (1986). Early performances by Crispen Glover, Ione Skye, and *choke* Keanu Reeves. Dennis Hopper. Small town murder drama, pretty nasty. Good flick, with a few tracks by Slayer (hell yeah!). Scared the hell out of my parents back in the day--they thought our whole generation was turning into murderous Satan worshippers or something.

The River's Edge was a good one. Keanu is actually decent in that.

Knew a lot of kids like that in HS. No one as crazy or sociopathic as "John" though (thank goodness).
