Spotlight (2015) Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo
A biographical film about the Boston Globe reporters that uncovered the child sex abuse cases by Boston area Priests that ultimately uncovered a much wider scandal. It's a riveting movie that's a little like All The President's Men. It really took a Herculean effort to get through all of the layers of protection the church had to be able to get this story. It's a fascinating and important movie but when you get to the end, there's no other reaction you can have than why? There's just no explanation as to why the church went to such lengths to protect these monsters.
The movie is also important as it shows how vital print journalism is to us as it's fading into the sunset.
