Saint....hmmmmm. I think there are a few prerequisites I don't meet. :)
Give me sixth-graders any day over Kindergarten through third grade.
I like when they can blow their own noses, tie their own shoes and not go to the bathroom every 12 minutes.
I would retire if they moved me to a lower grade! I get along great with ages 12-14--we have an awesome time together!

I worked Kindergarten and first grade twice and never again. I like little kids but...when they get cranky or don't want to do something, they collapse on the floor. They go limp and boneless. :) Which I think is so smart! They don't want to and you are going to have to move them. Ha! That's the problem, I can't bend over and pick them up and I can't carry them.

I prefer 10-12 grade and alternative school students. But I'm just a substitute not a real teacher so I'm sure I have a different experience. xD

(May I please say, I have a very difficult time when a teacher gives me, a sub, instructions that are way different than how they run their class. For example, "Students MAY NOT have their cell phones, ipods, laptops, tablet, any electronics. If they have them out please collect them." The problem-the teacher allows the students to have ALL that stuff when s/he is teaching. That puts me in a difficult position. I can't win. )

1. Do you recycle? Yes, I live in NYC, it is the law. Everything is "recycled". The only trash you throw in the garbage is supposed to be organic for the landfill. They give tickets to people who do not comply.
2. Are you spontaneous or a planner? both, used to be much more spontaneous and more and more I am planning. Because of this vacation club I'm in I plan out my vacations 1 year in advance.
3. If you could change anything in the way you were raised- what would it be? No idea.
4. What sound(s) do you love? crickets, genuine laughter, geese, birds chattering, a rushing brook, a howling storm, rain on a metal roof.
5. What do you prefer- sweet or salty? both, a time for everything
6. What was a food you hated as a child, but eat as an adult? tomatoes (I once read that they used to be poisonous so I used that as my excuse not to eat them as a child)
7. If you could pick anyone as a mentor who would it be? The mentors that I had. I'm pretty sure they were the best I could have gotten.
8. Are you an introvert or an extrovert? some of both, I do not like large parties, yet I am a teacher who is very comfortable speaking in front of a class or an assembly.
9. What is the worst gift you ever received? You can't ask this question without also asking what is the best gift you ever received, otherwise we come across as a jackass for answering. So I am going to give you both, the best gift and the worst. The best gift was $5 in a letter. The worst gift was a used car.
Best gift -- I was working as a full time volunteer on a Christian construction site. There was no pay, and after 3 months I had run out of the money I had brought with me. They provided room and board so that wasn't the issue. The problem was my toothpaste had run out. Now as you know this is a slow process, and for the week or two weeks prior to this day I had been aware of it and was praying every day about it. I had taken the tube apart so I could scrape the last bit of toothpaste out. But this morning I threw the tube away. I was now really concerned, praying, because I did not want to be humiliated because I couldn't brush my teeth. When I arrived at the worksite they gave me a letter from my local church and in it a very poor couple (I call them dignified poor) had included a $5 bill in it. That was the best gift I ever got.
The worst - a used car. I was going to college and very much involved in the local church. My parents sent me $300 a month which was exactly enough to pay my rent, food, and bus ticket. The commute was long, about 1 1/2 hours, but I got a seat and was able to do school work on the bus. This brother decided to give me his old car. I told him I didn't want it and couldn't use it but he insisted. I had to reregister the car (couldn't afford that), get it inspected (couldn't afford that), pay for gas, deal with parking (I didn't have time for that), and keep it running (didn't have the money, time or inclination for that). Very quickly the car needed minor work, I left it parked, somehow the tires went flat, I couldn't afford to fix that, and then it was towed away by the city. I was vilified in the church for the way I had disrespected this brothers gift.

10. What do you miss most about being a younger/a child? Footloose and carefree

1. Do you recycle?
As much as possible. There isn't glass recycling here, but we do try to use the jars we have for storage of bulk food. BH made refrigerator pickles today (and does so often), using repurposed large olive jars :)
2. Are you spontaneous or a planner?
Depends. I used to be purely spontaneous, but growing up has made me realize that there are times to plan for the best results.
3. If you could change anything in the way you were raised- what would it be?
At the time, I would have said moving every couple of years. I was extremely shy, and it was not pleasant. Now, I'm sort of glad, because I got to see many different places and met many different people. It was hard then, though.
4. What sound(s) do you love?
Wind in the trees. Water over rocks. Rain on the metal roof of our deck. Baby laughs. Music, played well. My family in deep conversation, especially around the dinner table. It's not always appropriate (I love my weird little family--lol), but it's cool hearing different thoughts, even from LilMan. And when everyone is laughing (again, usually over something morbid or inappropriate :) ) it's a little bit of heaven.
5. What do you prefer- sweet or salty?
Salty, always.
6. What was a food you hated as a child, but eat as an adult?
Onions. My mom would tell us, "It's just celery," when we picked at a suspicious piece of vegetable matter. :) Now, I can't imagine a kitchen without onions! They're the base note in most delicious food!
7. If you could pick anyone as a mentor who would it be?
Mr. Rogers.
8. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Introvert
9. What is the worst gift you ever received?
Huh. That's a stumper. I've had it so ingrained to be grateful for any gift (because it meant someone was thinking of you) that I can't think of a single thing that I could call 'worst'.
10. What do you miss most about being a younger/a child?
No worries about money. I know there are kids who can't relate to that, but even though we were a single income family growing up, and I know we couldn't have had a lot of extra money, I don't remember ever giving a thought to money. We had what we needed, always, with enough extras to be comfortable but not overwhelmed.

1. Do you recycle?
No.

2. Are you spontaneous or a planner?
Definitely a planner.

3. If you could change anything in the way you were raised- what would it be?
My parents were very strict and now I'm glad, but I hated it then. Also, they never taught me to do anything for myself (cooking, cleaning, etc...) and I would change that.

4. What sound(s) do you love?
The sound of my son talking. He didn't even say "Mommy" until he was 6 years old, so even now when he utters a whole phrase I still feel so blessed.

5. What do you prefer- sweet or salty?
I love both, but if I had to choose, probably salty.

6. What was a food you hated as a child, but eat as an adult?
There are so many things. I was the pickiest eater! My two favorites though are creamed chipped beef on toast and BLTs.

7. If you could pick anyone as a mentor who would it be?
I have a friend who's a bit older than me, but she's a great mom (were in similar situations: special needs son, teenage daughter) and she has a lot more on her plate than I do, but she handles it so calmly.

8. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Introvert in newer situations. Extrovert once I get comfortable.

9. What is the worst gift you ever received?
I can think of a couple horribly useless things, but it's the thought that counts, so I won't complain.

10. What do you miss most about being a younger/a child?
Like a few others have said, I miss not having financial worries.
