Ah yes - one of the great philosophical question of the agesIndeed, I do ... but they seem to like me less and less as I age (gracelessly) with the world.
Why are you here?
Yes, I feel hopeful.Ah yes - one of the great philosophical question of the ages
I am here to enjoy life, help others when possible and sometimes just be a form of entertainment - hey - if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?
But seriously - why am I here on this Board? (Perhaps I am a bit addicted I suppose) - I am here because it's the greatest message board on the internet
My question (and don't get all serious and political) SVP:
Now that Trump has been inaugurated, are you feeling more hopeful that he will be okay as a president after all?
Yes, I feel hopeful.
Have you ever cried in public?
An old Dodge Aries from my paternal grandparents. My dad was disabled for 15 years due to a back injury. He was in constant pain and could barely walk. During a revival at church a preacher laid hands on him and prayed. Next thing I know he's running, jumping and touching his toes. The whole church, who knew his predicament, were crying.
What was your first car?
Very traditional - Mom was a Protestant and Dad a Roman Catholic - but they loved each other and stayed together 50 years until Mom died.Moderately strict up until about 14.
What about your parents?
Armadillo........and that's a joke. I think I could give up chicken if I had to.Freezer? Until it gets freezer burned
If you had to give up one type of common meat forever, what would it be?
I was born in Washington, DC and lived there until I was two. Then moved back to stay with my father for a while when I was 21. Stayed for under a year.Armadillo........and that's a joke. I think I could give up chicken if I had to.
What's the largest city you've visited/lived in?
Somewhere in Montana. Billings, Bozeman, Whitefish, I don't care. I fell in love with that place. If you don't count military bases (and I honestly don't know how big most of them are), probably Thermopolis, WY. I think the population is about 3K.
If you could live anywhere, which place would you choose?
Kalispell, MT is lovely. I've been through there a couple of times and both times decided that I could live thereSomewhere in Montana. Billings, Bozeman, Whitefish, I don't care. I fell in love with that place.
Has a doctor's receptionist ever been rude to you?
I guess that question could be taken in many directions but what jumps to mind is the death of my grandmother's sister. I had to go to my grandmother's house and tell her. I knocked, let myself inside, and called for my grandmother. The house was silent and she appeared with a knowing look. She quickly began cleaning counters, offering me a plate of food, talking, talking, talking, no eye contact. "Nanny!" I said. She stopped and looked at me. Before I could tell her what happened her face crumpled and she slowly slumped onto the bar, hands over face, shoulders shaking. Then came her gut wrenching sounds. It was awful.I've never been in the unfortunate position to have to broach it with them, but I have been delegated to bring it up to a supervisor who then had to approach the coworker. I felt bad for the hygiene guy--he was super nice, but never seemed to bathe or brush his teeth. After the supervisor took him aside (VERY privately--she handled it well), he did a 180. Apparently he really hadn't given it much thought up until that point.
Have you ever had to approach someone with information that could be taken very badly?
I'm sorry you had to deliver that news, Doc. It must have been heartbreaking.I guess that question could be taken in many directions but what jumps to mind is the death of my grandmother's sister.
