I agree, Holly. There's something about olive oil that makes skin so smooth and radiant. I've been using it for five years now on my face and it's amazing. For the rest of my body I moisturize with Burt's Bees Frangrance Free Shea Butter & Vitamin E Body Lotion-- it's 99% natural.
I use burt's bees shea and vitamin E for my feet.

All these tips are awesome.

I focus on my neck. Prevent chin/neck wattle. (Someone posted about putting on oil on face and showering/steaming. I do that with my neck )

Has anyone tried the sea salt body scrubs? I tend toward oily skin but I can't use anything too harsh.

Peace.
I use sea salt scrubs, you can make your own.

Lol about the lavender, does not work at all on my kid. When he was a baby we got that lavender sleepy-time lotion and baby wash stuff for him, but all it did was wind him up! Put that stuff on him and it was like giving him Mtn. Dew or something. ;-D
I did the same thing with my youngest! I did not notice any difference.

Salt for exfoliating, detoxifying, softening and antiseptic-ing.
Sweet almond oil for moisturizing.
Rosemary for antioxidizing and astringent-ing.
Lemon for pigmentation problems, acne, softening, and glowing.

1 c. kosher salt
the zest of one lemon
2 T. fresh rosemary leaves, stripped from the stem
¼ c. almond oil
3 T. grapeseed oil
lemon and rosemary essential oils

Mix the salt with the lemon zest and rosemary leaves. Pour the oils over the top of the salt and drop in 3-5 drops of lemon oil and the same with the rosemary oil. Stir everything and put into a pretty pot or glass jar with a cannister lid. Use in the shower and stir before every use. Keeps for 6 months.

I have a friend who is in her late sixties. She tells the story that in the late forties she was an army brat about 16 stationed in Germany and she was in home ec and the teacher said they were to have a guest speaker--a model who was there to give beauty tips. The young woman came and over course was a stunner. She spoke with an accent and told the class that she only had one skin regimen--she only used extra virgin olive oil on her skin. Well I tried it and it is awesome--dries up blemishes and plumbs up skin makes skin look less wrinkled. And the model? Turns out she was Sophia Loren! (true story)!

so cool.... thanks for this!!

Dis you know this works really well for mosquito bites? It shrinks swelling and quells itching :) I'm super allergic (a bite on the wrist swells my whole forearm up), so when I heard this it was a blessing.

i actually use Preperation H on my eyelids in the morning to reduce morning swelling... i keep it in the fridge so it's nice and cool~

Peppermint body scrub & foot scrub:

-the body scrub should ideally be made with sugar, which is more finely grained than salt, but if you like salt, go ahead - it won't hurt!
-the foot scrub should be made with salt

1 c. kosher salt, epsom salt, or sugar
¼ c. almond oil
10 drops of peppermint essential oil (more if you like it really tingly, but be careful)

Add the oil slowly to make a grainy scrub, not slushy. Rub the scrub in small circles when you use it. If your skin turns slightly pink, that's a good sign, because your circulation is getting a boost.

Sigmund - how'd the haircut turn out? Do you love it? Mine is way too long for my liking and I really want to get 3-4 inches taken off - some floaty layers, maybe a bob. But I'm scared. I always end up loving it when I get it cut, but then it takes me years to grow it back out.[/QUOTE]

Hi, Sweetness!

I had almost 6 inches cut off.

I hated to lose the length but it was for the best. (Nasty split ends and totally fried hair.
Should have cut it long ago.)

I'm trying to get used to it but I'm used to flipping it out of the way because when I sit down it got caught between my back and the high backed chair or the car seat. I keep on flipping hair that is no longer there. Ha!

Peace.

Used this on my roots today, and it's excellent for covering gray. Very easy to use, and a bonus: If you don't use all the product, it stays "unmixed" so you can save it and use it for your next touch-up. Cost was about $13 at Wal-Mart, but I went to the Loreal site and downloaded a $3 off coupon. C'mon, you're worth it!
