My daughter and I watched Aileen tonight. Sad story. I liked the way the filmmakers nod to the Hollywood film, but Wuornos gets the last word when she said her testimony in court was a lie, and so the movie was based on a lie. It was interesting.

I also thought it was quite good. Sad story for both her and her victims. The way her childhood was, she never really had a chance to become a normal person although that isn't an excuse for her heinous actions.

My personal opinion, and now her saying it was all a lie is making me question my thoughts, but I really do feel the very first guy she killed was abusing her. I think she WAS fighting for her life with him. I do believe she killed that first guy in self defense. And I think once she killed, and benefitted by it with money and his vehicle (I think she took it), it was easier to justify killing all the others.

Almost a, "well, I've killed, so what does it matter now?"

Not really documentary but, sort of, kind of???? I just watched the series Very British Problems. Loved it. It was so interesting and I honestly believe that 90% of my personality is British. It was like they were talking about me. BUT, there is that wild card 10% of me that can come out at any given moment, but I have to be pushed to the breaking point. I'm a slow burner.

The fact that they talk about British people being so proper and polite and then getting in a car and losing it! Oh my god. that is me. This whole series just made me laugh.

It's difficult to know what is true. After her sentencing, she said she had to clear her conscience and told the documentary maker that she made it up, hoping to gain leniency in sentencing. Her second story was that she chose that guy in particular because she was $1200 in arrears in her rent and he had most of the money. Plus, she wanted his vehicle because she was moving and needed it. She was pretty convincing, both times she told the story. Really hard to tell what is the truth.

My Brother the Serial Killer. Glen Rogers' brother narrates the story of his brother's killing spree. First of all, Glen is one of the scariest people on the planet. He truly is a sociopath, evidenced clearly by one single scene in the doc when one of his victim's father was giving his impact speech. Glen actually sighed and rolled his eyes when the man was pouring his guts out to the judge about his daughter's murder. His brother finally speaks out, however I suspect he was looking to make a few bucks by doing this. And as for Glen Rogers being the "real" killer of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman, I can only say "hogwash"!!! He's now been of Florida's death row for 20 years (give or take a few years). I just don't understand how this guy has not been executed by now. What a creepy individual he is......

We watched For the Love of Spock on Pay-Per-View/VOD this weekend. It was directed by Adam Nimoy, Leonard's son. It started out as being a history of the character, but when Leonard Nimoy died during the time when he was preparing the documentary, he decided to expand it to include details of his father's life, too. It is, to coin a phrase, fascinating.

I am taking a break from cleaning the kitchen and cooking. I like to watch Nexflix while I'm messing around in there. I have recently watched The Eyes of the Mothman, totally creepy and highly recommended by me. Weird or What? is a pretty good show about odd things. Through the Wormhole is really good and... Can't think of the name of it but Stephen Hawking's Universe something or rather is fantastic.
Right now though I am watching Chariots of the Gods . It is cracking me up! It was made in the 70's and though it's an interesting documentary the sound track is pure 70's corn-pone.

I watched that same Mothman show. Definitely creepy. I very much liked it.

I watched a show on Hulu or Netflix, can't remember which, this weekend I wish could erase from my head. "Megan Is Missing." Disturbing to say the least. It's a bit annoying at first with all the web cam chatting between the two girls, but it takes a helluva dark turn down the rabbit hole about a quarter of the way thru and doesn't let up the rest of the way. Not one you want to let the young kiddos watch.

Why the hell did I post this in "documentaries"? This movie is definitely not a documentary. Sorry mods.

Watched this over a couple of nights just recently, hilarious... and obviously not just British problems!
