I'm going to watch that! I have to confess to a guilty pleasure... A reality series called Sister Wives.Watched Talhotblond (2009) on Netflix a few days ago. Tragic story about how people were horribly deceptive online and the repercussions were deadly. Very sad.
I've never watched Sister Wives or heard of "catfishing."I'm going to watch that! I have to confess to a guilty pleasure... A reality series called Sister Wives.
One of the wives, Meri, got caught up in a "catfishing" scheme on one of her social media places. I'm not sure I know exactly what catfishing is, but she got catfished.
A woman posing as an interested male lured her in and tried to get her to say she was going to leave her family. I think they were going to try to blackmail her or something. She was devastated! She had started to fall in love with this person too.
My heart really goes out to her.

I haven't been able to watch it either. But I need to - I don't know as much about what happened as I should (I was very young and self absorbed at that time). I remember the basic, horrific facts though.Matt Shephard is a Friend of Mine is on Netflix right now. I can't watch it. I know the story. I have remembered this boy's name since the day it hit the news. I know what I need to know about it, but I encourage anyone who doesn't know about this or haven't thought about this issue to watch it. At the time he was murdered, I was the mother to a 5 year old son and a 9 year old son. I was sick. I don't know how his family has picked up and moved on. If someone did this to my child, my heart would just turn to stone.
A guy riding his bike? jogging? found him. He thought he was a scarecrow at first, but then he saw the tear streaks through the blood on his cheeks.I haven't been able to watch it either. Not to take away from the inexcusable violence and human rights aspect of Matt's story, but I read something somewhere this year that was supposedly obtained from one of his family members (maybe his mom?). The story mentioned that at the scene of his death, the police found a lot of deer tracks and a large body imprint that made them believe a deer stayed close by him until he passed away. I know it's a minor thing in the huge tragedy, but it made me cry - I believe an animal would do that. I believe that a deer stayed with him so he didn't feel alone, and that brought him a tiny fraction of peace. This is what I choose to believe.
Oh dear God.A guy riding his bike? jogging? found him. He thought he was a scarecrow at first, but then he saw the tear streaks through the blood on his cheeks.
We watched CHAOS ON THE BRIDGE this weekend. William Shatner wrote and directed this 60-minute documentary about the troubles Star Trek: The Next Generation faced during its first couple of seasons. Quite fascinating. It's on Netflix.
Yes, devastating .Mr. Stephen King brought this one back to me, in his intoduction a story in the new book.
God this one haunted me for years, still does. I had dreams again, about it after I read the short story.
It is so incredibly messed up. Horrifying you cant look away. I wanted to turn it off. Oh god, the 911 calls.
It is a mystery. What did she do? and when? why? what? She looked fine, 20 minutes before. Horribles.
There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane.
Name of the program.
Last words from one of the children in the car.
I love documentaries. I was just telling my boys that I was going to find a copy of Ken Burns' Civil War for them to watch. They were so excited (not)!
Same here. My favorite was the one he did about Lewis and Clark.I could watch that sucker over and over. Superb.
