Studmuffin was already taken ;-D

But seriously, When I signed up way back when, I had no idea I would actually be posting anything here. fljoe (a combination of the state I live in and my name) was just a standard log-in I used for a bunch of accounts and it was easy enough for me to remember. The 0 got thrown on the end because fljoe sometimes would be already taken. If I realized when I signed up here that I would have been posting so much, I probably would have used something else. I've often thought about changing it but have always decided not to.

 I bet a lot of people have tried to use it. I tried using Oneforthemoney, and the computer refused to let me use it.

Do I really need to explain mine?
You like to eat rice?
You are the king of the rice eaters?

(Nah - I know - you like Anne Rice and that Stephen King guy, too!)

Actually, it's because one time I was over at Steve and Tabby's place, the one that's on the lake in Maine, and they concocted this fantastically mouth-watering rice dish in a slow cooker.........oh, wait......I wasn't supposed to ever mention that! I take it all back! Marsha, please don't tell Steve!!!!!!

Very nice description. Autumn is my favorite time of year, and this was perfectly said.
Oh, thanks, Dana Jean. Autumn always feels way too short for me so I try to not to waste one minute of it. I walk, I bake, I read Robert Frost, I decorate the house, and I endlessly extol its beauty to everyone until they're sick of hearing me. :biggrin2:
It is also my favorite time of the year. Winter and Summer are a study in extremes here. Spring is wet and smelly, but fall does something for me. And it's just too short.

When I was signing up to a different forum many years ago, the (lame) name I wanted was taken, and I didn't want numbers at the end. So I was sitting there unable to think of a name I liked and thought "screw it, I won't have one, I'll be nameless". That act of laziness/lack of imagination stuck with me onto other boards and forums.

I'm Wiccan and Autumn Gust is my Wiccan name. It fits my personality perfectly . Autumn's my favorite season-- I love every. single. thing about it and really come alive during that time of year. I chose "Gust" for two reasons: It doesn't take much for me to get excited when something's going on. But, especially, I love autumnal gusts that shake the trees and cause the leaves to swirl wildly. I also love it when I'm walking along and a strong gust suddenly makes a little eddy of brightly colored leaves. I think they're beautiful as they scoot across the street. And that scraping sound they make on the pavement as they whirl by? Just lovely!
Lovely! It's my favorite, too (I was named appropriately--lol), particularly October. I can't wait until this hot stuff is over and I can sit on the back deck, wrapped in a light blanket, and drink my tea while I listen to the wind :) Plus, it's my DT time of year--I always get the yen to take the journey in Autumn.

Same here with the DT journey. End of November and the journey begins again. I can't read it in summer/ was on book 7 during a massive Tropical, praying I'd know the ending before we got blown away. Thus- when Fall comes- it's DT time.

I got through the first two books this summer, but just couldn't do the rest until it gets cooler--it felt too weird. My other seasonal read is Jan Karon's Mitford series; i always want to read that one in the spring. Brains work so strangely! :)
