The intro to Mean Street is just sick. EVH is one of the best on the planet.

My personal favorite EVH solo is "Sinners Swing"...Im not a huge VH fan but "Fair Warning" is probably my favorite VH album: its dark and its moody and has some of EVHs most cutting-edge playing IMHO. A lot of peeps dont care for this album but I thought it was great :D ....... I also prefer Diamond Dave VH over Sammy Hager VH -- Nothing against Sammy; he's a very talented force upon himself -- but I just thought VH music and songs were far more adventurous with David Lee Roth

I agree about DLR. I'm not that familiar with the album/songs you reference, so can't speak to them...
EVH is such a huge talent

I'm in the minority as I vastly prefer Sammy to Dave. Dave was always a lazy singer and lyricist. Great performer though.

Sammy is a far superior singer. I think the song writing was so much better when he was in the band.

Fair Warning is my favorite Dave era album too.

In the "form/substance" debate, I generally admire to substance, so I like Sammy.

Unfortunately, VH are a parody of themselves now. They are Spinal Tap personified. Their whole week of Jimmy Kimmel and Ellen was just sad. Really, Ellen?? Who's bright idea was that? The VH brothers must need money pretty bad to trot out AARP DLR.
