Thank you all for the support and kind words. It has been a really exhausting few days. Lots of ups and downs. Every time I thought I knew what was happening and would start to post an update, something would change. To make a long story short, he does have some cancer spots in his back (T5), liver, and 2 small spots in his cerebellum. They plan to do an oral chemo and continue radiation on the spine soon.
On Friday, when I got there, he could sit up on the side of the bed, but was very weak. By Saturday morning, he could not move his legs at all. After many scans and moving him to another hospital that has a neuro-surgeon on staff, they confirmed that there was a fracture in the T5 vertebra that was causing swelling on his spinal column. We thought for a while that he might be paralyzed (they even mentioned Gillian-Barre`) but after performing surgery removing the fracture, we are seeing some improvement. PT had him sitting up on the side of the bed today and lifting his legs one inch. Lots of PT and treatments ahead, but we are still hopeful. Prayers do work and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. ((((SKMB))))
