Very good!No I made sure I wasn't taking someone else's. They bring 50 newspapers each time and there is 36 apts. I put the ones I have
taken from at the bottom so no one gets a newspaper without a coupon book. But I don't think anyone uses them because I
see all kinds of them in the recycling bin. (No, I don't dumpster dive, I have my limits. )

One more thing I am meeting your wife for a late lunch and we are splitting the contents of your wallet.
She left 50cents on the kitchen table for you (she didn't forget your lunch money). We are not heartless
you know. Buy a bag of licorice, you need to be more regular anyways. Have a great day!
Thank you for that! We do try to keep on top of what the kids are doing and who their friends are, and that definitely will not change. We have a few years before it becomes an issue, the two youngest are in grade school still.cat in a bag
I read your comments about the boundary changes (schools) twice. It was deja vu for me. Even though we lived in Ontario
the exact thing happened to our kids. We too, had done lots or research before buying our house and what schools they would
be going to was high on the priority list. The kids ended up finishing there elementary school at a different school and then went
to the worst junior high in the city. This school was bad. Police cruisers were there every day, lock downs, just everything
you could imagine, and then some, went on at that school. Because of their age difference they were never in junior high at
the same time. Those 2 years for each of them was a walk through hell. But they survived it. There were incidents, one was
bullying of my oldest. For what its worth I found staying in tune with them about what was going on was very important
and if something was wrong I was at the school seeing the principal and teacher(s) within a day. It helped. To be fair, the
teachers had students in that school who should have been in reform school or jail. Many of them had been. Never, in there
school years had I had to confront a principle or a teacher until they went to that junior high. Positive impact? Maybe your
school will have more luck with that then we did. I do remember that at the time they had told me they were not used to
speaking with parents who cared and who were interested in their child's education.
You have every right to be upset but unfortunately it doesn't help. What I did find as well that helped was going to every
teacher interview evening they had. When they know they have an attentive, caring, sincere parent who is genuinely
interested it does help. Tell them your concerns and listen to what they say. If you do not like what you are hearing go
to the next person in the hierarchy. And keep going up to the next person until you hear the solution, reasoning or whatever
it is you are looking for in your particular situation. I can't stress how much this helped.
Hope some of this helps you. Take one day at a time and listen to what your kids have to say carefully and what your instincts
are telling you they are NOT saying.

They are going to consider exemptions, but priority will be given to those students who already have a sibling at one school or the other, so parents don't have to juggle that.
My husband spoke to a coworker about it yesterday and the coworker's daughter had all kinds of problems when she attended the jr hig
h I think is the better one, so they transferred her into the other school and she really blossomed and did well there. So, I think you're right, parent involvement will be key to making those years successful years for them.
It is going to be weird, though. Having one kid with a diploma from a different school than the other 3 do. They are going to allow incoming freshman and sophomores in the 2017-18 year to choose which high school, so maybe Evan can still go to the same high school the rest of them will. But again, they may not approve that, because he will have graduated before our next one gets there. It will be interesting. I just hope it is not really frustrating.
Thanks again!!
I'm angry today because I was not informed that students in our district have off TODAY (in addition to Monday).
I had a hard time sleeping so I turned on my phone to read about 4 a.m.
I got a facebook notification that a friend had posted about having 2 days off for MLK.
That's the first I heard about it, since the district got cheap and stopped sending home school calendars a few years ago.
I would've been dealing with an hours-long meltdown (with kiddo getting showered and in his shool uniform and no bus showing up) had I not checked fb.
Another friend (whose child is also autistic and in my son's class) did have her daughter ready and didn't find out there was no school until she called the transportation company to complain about the van not showing up. She lost a day's work because she didn't know kids were off and couldn't arrange for childcare.
That sucks! I am mad on your behalf. I don't facebook and resent that some places only communicate that way. Glad you found out before it was an issue for you. Sorry about your friend.

(((((notebookgirl)))))I hate when you are expecting something and it doesn't happen. I was really hopeful about this new gig, but it's not happening. Disappointing because it was one of those dream gigs. I thought I did well on interview. Back to reality! Grass might not always be greener, right? I would have liked to roll in it, just to see though.

80sFan how many years do you have left dealing with that school? At my son's highschool it's the person running the parent/teacher association (not sure what they actually call it). Anyway, he sends an e-mail every weekend. If there is a parent that cares enough, a volunteer might be more reliable.
