Hi y'all...just peeping in again. Don't know if any of you are planning on actually staying at the Stanley but if so, you might wanna go over to TripAdvisor and read some 1-star reviews. They're all true, sadly.

I've stayed at the Stanley only once (visited twice) and it was the nicest, fanciest, cleanest places I've ever seen. The staff were great, too. They have waiters that even bring drink orders to you on the front porch, guests and non-guests.
So excited we'll be touring in the Stanley in just 2 short weeks!

Personally, I don't think I've ever overpaid as much for a hotel room. About $300 too much. I could say more but it seems negativity is frowned upon here...
...we don't frown on negativity...it's just your opinion.....nothing wrong with that.....yes, certain things set us off, but that's legit confrontation for protection of Board members.....
It's a historic hotel and and tourest destination ( the entire town of estes park is a tourest location), of course there's a higher price.

I can't wait to see all your pictures too! I actually mapquested how long it would take us to drive there....33 hours! Sniff......now I'm trying to convince David that he would definetly be able to handle driving one of those big camper type vehicles and that we should plan an Anniversary there.He IS NOT buying what I'm trying to sell him

...I am going to broach the subject of our next venue for 2018, when we gather to break bread at this years event....destinations are going to be to return to Maine, or head to Florida......vote of the members in attendance will determine the locale.....it's the way it has to be, because to much planning is involved to throw it out on the Board for suggestions and votes....bogs down and becomes a headache...this is NO insult to any of the family here, just acknowledgement that time is of the essence even when the event is two years away...I can't wait to see all your pictures too!
